i have suffered for nearly 20 years with breathing issues no one could find out what the problem was until i saw dr lee after several tests he was able to come up with a diagnosis and started treatment but because of Calais hospital dr lee decided to leave and i haven't found a lung dr worth seeing

Doctor Francis Lee is the reason I am still alive. Wish he was still here.

Draws out treatment. Doesn't listen to the patient. I might be wrong but he didnâ??t leave a very good overall impression. It appeared to me that he lied several times and the lies were seemingly deliberate and when confronted with them he could not or would not explain them. It seemed that he prescribed medication without justification in several instances. Gave medication for asthma and COPD, listed me as having asthma yet he told be verbally and directly I didn't have asthma or COPD. Curious claims were made about medicare requirements for apnea machine monitoring for which I can only guess at his motivations. We discussed his associations and I wanted to know if continued apnea chip readings past the initial 2 were wanted by his association or require by Medicare. He assured me it was a Medicare requirement. Was he lying to solicit more charges? Very suspicious. Allergy (histamine) control test failed to produce a response for anything, yet he didnâ??t… repeat test and listed me as having allergies on my medical record. Gave me trial of 3 months of several COPD and asthma inhalant powders only to discover he did not run baseline CO2 diffusion test prior to trial. As a result the trial inhalant test was a total waste of time and money. Iâ??m absolutely certain I have central sleep apnea (I stop breathing). His diagnosis was obstructive sleep apnea. I informed him and sleep study workers about being witnessed central breathing pauses (both wives) and that I was even self aware of it happing, yet central sleep apnea was not part of his diagnosis. He insisted that I see him every three months and scheduled separate visits for breathing tests in order to bill medicare more. He asserted the chip reading was required by Medicare beyond the first couple of readings. It was not. He wanted to schedule a doctor visits (paid) to read the chip (perhaps to make money and for his medical association). He should have paid me to allow him access to my chip, not the other way around. I find it suspicious that medicare doesnâ??t allow billing for lung volume and doctor visit if on the same day, but will pay if a separate day visit is scheduled for the lung volume. Might be, but Iâ??m suspicious. Overall, during my visits he gave the appearance of a doctor sincerely concerned and wanting to help. However, so many things happened which demonstrated (to me) incompetence from both him and his staff during my course of treatment for which he would offer no explanation. He may be a good doctor. I donâ??t know and I donâ??t feel Iâ??m competent to judge. He did order some helpful tests, but I was left wondering about his communication skills, his competency, his honesty and his billing practices.

Does not communicate well.

I would defnitly recommend Dr Lee as pulmonary Dr. He takes time to listen to you, you can tell he really cares, and seems to really know what hes talking about. If Dr Lee thinks its better to go somewhere else to get a second opinion or better expertise he will. Your health is important to him. I have complete confidence in him.

He is test-happy. Orders tests that don't even make sense. I have been to asthma doctors in other cities, this guy is just interested in running as many tests as possible. Don't go here

I haven't been there for a while but last time I was there I was the very first appointment of the day and I had to wait over an hour in the examine room for the doctor to finally come in and not even apologize or anything for being late. Also the office staff in front are rude and sometimes down right mean. I haven't been there since and do not plan on returning! The waiting in the examine room or waiting room always took FOREVER! Not recommended!!

Had appt yesterday at 1pm. Thought good, first appt after lunch. But the waiting room was packed. By 1:45 only one person had been called in. Got into brief discussion with surrounding patients. Discovered that they wait 2 hours, yes, 2 hrs for EVERY appt. At that point we decided to leave. Talked to receptionist and told her why - who said doc had an emergency, which we figured was a lie because the patients said they wait for EVERY appt, which I repeated to her. Besides if there was an emergency why didnt they alert the waiting room? Everyone would have understood a situation like that.

I drive over 45 min to see Dr Lee and I have never regretted it.My situation is better,Yes he does order a number of tests but this is how he figured out my problem. I recommend my friends and family!!!!!
