Francis Warren Nugent, III III, MD

My sister was given up on by her local hospital when diagosed with stage 4 Colon Cancer, and told to get to a hospice. But we found Dr. Nugent and he was able to treat her over a period of 15 months, buying her both time and hope. He went out of his way to persuade his team to try every available treatment, even though she was uninsured. He provided us with encouragement, and a level of care that allowed us many months of quality time together. While we were ultimately faced with her death, the time he gave us was treasured above all else. He is sensitive to patients feelings, experienced, and demanding the best treatments available regardless of cost, and we will always be grateful to him for the months he gave us when the medical business had given us up as a lost cause.

The communication and patient treatment was terrible. My dad was sent home and went into shock and died. Never spoke to us and left us in the dark. Test and appointment were not done in a timely manner. I hope this does not happen to other families. Go to Dana Farber and save your loved one.
