Dr. Francis Joseph Zidar, MD

I've been a patient of Dr. Zidar for almost 2 years. He operated on me 18 months ago. I needed my annual testing with his office this past April. I've reached out to the office 7 times since May (the last conversation was with the office manager) and have not been successful getting any doctor or nurse to call me back. As a result, I had no choice but to find another doctor and start over with them.

Dr. Zidar recently performed an Aortic Valve replacement on me via the TAVR procedure. He and his team did an extensive analysis to determine whether the SAVR or TAVR procedure was best for me. He considered all of the factors involved and made his decision based on my needs. Dr. Zidar has a great bedside manner and thoroughly explained my medical condition and what needed to be done to prevent further problems and possibly have a fantastic future from a medical standpoint. He also found an additional problem related to one of my kidneys and made a referral. My spouse and I have both had valve replacements and are very pleased with the outcome. If you need a cardiologist, I strongly recommend that you see Dr. Francis J. Zidar ASAP!!!!!!!!!!

I traveled from Chicago to Austin to consult Dr.Zidar for recurrent chest pains. The cardiologists who had examined me in the Chicago area performed the usual stress tests and gave me a clean bill of health but the chest pains persisted. Dr. Zidar did a catheterization and found 80-90% blockage in two key arteries and did the necessary repair.

Dr. Zidar gave me a stent a number of years ago and has been my heart doctor ever since. I think he is as good as there is -

I needed a cardiac release for an already scheduled procedure by another physician. Dr Zidar's staff squeezed me in the next day to have tests and meet with him to get approval for the coming surgery. Everyone was so helpful and he and they even apologized for making me wait. The wait was minimal but their end of the day attitude and support was unbelievable.

Both my husband and I are patients of Dr. Zidar and are very happy with him. He never rushes us and is very caring. We feel we are in most capable hands with Dr. Zidar and Barbara. We highly recommend them.

I'm 62 and have had more than my share of operations, interventions, and multiple trips to the ER. I have met with doctors, nurses, and specialists from literally around the world, from having lived overseas for 20 years. Dr Zidar is one of the few medical specialist you meet whom you immediately sense possesses a depth of knowledge, an ability to communicate it in layman's terms, as well as a sincere interest in his patients. He knows his stuff, is highly credentialed, and makes you feel you matter to him. My wife and I are totally pleased with him and his staff, who reflect his values and skills as well.

Dr. Zidar was recommended to me by my previous cardiologist when he retired. I could not be happier with that referral. Dr. Zidar shows genuine concern for patients, takes time to fully discuss details, has a good "bedside manner", and a great sense of humor. Above all, he is highly competent in his specialty. Austin Heart recently opened a satellite office that is about 45 miles closer to where I live, but I still drive in to see Dr.Zidar.
