Dr. Francisca Ada Ifesinachukwu, MD

I have seen Dr Ada as we call her for about 18 years now. I had been through psychotherapy before in group & individual w/psychologists & MSWs. I had a lot of tools in my bag, so to speak, but I was still not ok. Going the psychiatric route was my last choice. Dr Ada has been an establishment maverick. Especially in Texas as a woman and foreigner from a developing country many people have sought to disparage her and her methods. I do agree with some comments about her accepting phone calls to a point. But she explained what was going on. My wife, who sees her as well, is from Japan. Dr Ada is from Nigeria. I've lived over seas. Things get complicated when extreme distances are involved. Have a heart. As far as the APA, that is a professional guild ONLY as is the AMA. Neither have regulatory capability over anyone but members and it is not required that a psychiatrist be a member of either to practice. In fact, the APA has defamed itself in how it abused its influence (see Dr Band Lee… an the World Mental Health Coalition). Dr Ada would never abuse a child. She accepts insurance and works extremely hard. Insurance all over the country but particularly in Texas pays little to mental health professionals even psychiatrists. The real rich ones don't take insurance and charge hundreds to thousands of dollars per session. So, Dr Ada has a lot of patients. My biggest criticism is she needs to turn over running most of the business operations to someone else. I've had ups and downs with her. But she has tolerated a heck of a lot from me. I would like more genuine talk therapy like psychology. She and I discuss. I hope she gets on the renewed movement of more talk and less pharmaceutical therapy. The latter isn't bad but psychiatry is too emeshed w/pharm. My experience is that Dr Ada will really try to help you if you are helping yourself. That's why I stay with her.

Dr. Ada shows a complete lack of knowledge when addressing the court during my divorce. She recommended that my child did not visit me because he would get anxious whenever the suggestion to visit me was made. Per attachment and family systems psychology, the current scientific knowledge of families and children behaviour, children do not reject a parent unless pathogenic parenting is present. She did not identified any abuse from me to my child, as none existed, and she failed to evaluate for psychological abuse done be the mother, that destroyed the attachment bond between child and father. She failed to recognise that the anxiety on the child was caused by fear to the mothers reaction is he asked for contact with the father, and excitement for the idea of seeing his father. She committed a lot of others APA ethical violations, for her lack of knowledge. She, for all purposes, became accomplices to the psychological abuse of my child.

Ada is the doctor that told the court that I should not spend time with my son because every time she asks him about me, in front of the mother, he gets very anxious. This was when we, ex-wife and I, where getting divorced and when she was doing everything she could to remove me from his life. She is clearly an incompetent individual that breached many of the code of conduct requirements of the ADA (do no harm, don't work out of your competence area, and others Standards 2.01a, 9.01a, 3.04, and 2.03.), with no remorse and even today, eight years later, has no idea what ethics and competence means. For eight years now, the child has had no father, and the father has lost a child, partly because of her incompetent intervention. I would advise anyone that cares about the mental health of its children to stay away from her. You have been warned.

it’s long, but please take the time to read this review before you choose dr. ada as your psychiatrist. i have been a forced patient of dr. adas for about 6 years i believe. my mom made me go to her because she said she was the best psychiatrist. she most definitely is not. here is why; ada ifesinachukwu is a very egotistical person. she believes that she is right and the best. every appt i had with her, she gave me the DIRTIEST looks. she would constantly interrupt and be so rude with her responses. she would answer calls personal and from patients ALWAYS. there’s not one appt where she didn’t do that. she never kept anything confidential ever. my mom is bipolar and i do have to say, dr. ada has been very helpful and accommodating, but it doesn’t make up for the wrong things she did. she would allow my mom to go off her meds because my mom was feeling okay. of course she felt okay because she was on meds! that doesn’t mean she should stop them! which always resulted in manic episodes… that were horrid. this time, i decided to confront her about it and she blew up on me saying, “ i saved her life 10 years ago and of course you don’t remember that because you are now an expert in mental health issues and bipolar and all that.” before, i tried to ask her why she let her off meds because now she’s manic and she responded by saying that i had a part to do with my moms mania because i came home late from college and she wanted to talk to me. she could’ve just not responded like any professional instead she sent the most petty text. also, i went to see a great therapist and he laughed when he found out that she prescribed me with abilify for anxiety. he told me it’s for people who are bipolar and have psychosis which have none of and that’s why my anxiety got tremendously worse. he also told me to take 5htp and try it out to help my anxiety and i asked her if i could take it and she got so livid and texted me saying “no don’t, why would you listen to him? that is so disrespectful and rude that he would recommend you to take 5htp. he is not a psychiatrist ” and said if i was gonna listen to him i should just have him as my doctor instead and that he doesn’t know anything. ‘doctor’ ada has proved herself to be very unreliable and egotistical. please, before you choose her, consider this review. also might i add that after i confronted her, immediately after, she prescribed my mom with THE MOST EXPENSIVE meds and MULTIPLE of them. so if that doesn’t say something, i don’t know what does. please, save yourself and don’t go to dr. ada. also she’s extremely disorganized and late so that’s another con.

I've been seeing Dr. Ada for years now, and she has been kind, compassionate and very, very helpful, to a degree that really can't be measured. My only complaint is that she can be quite uncompromising about drug/alcohol abuse.

flippant.did not listen. refused to do drug level, which I had done by another Dr, it was zero. suffered needlessly for four months.

To this day, I have never seen a passionate doctor like Dr.Ada. She does not see you as a number but see you as a human and is very compassionate and very understanding. She is extremely brilliant too.

Dr Ada is wonderful. she is truly a caring doctor with a very caring staff. i have and will recommend her to anyone needing assistance in her expertise!
