Dr. Francisco Guedes Alencar, DDS

Dr. Alencar is not just a dentist. He is a pain specialist. He has a wonderful bed side manner and really cares about his patients. He was the only person who could diagnose my injury and because he properly diagnosed it he was able to treat it properly. He makes himself available by e-mail and phone and I meet with him every 4-6 weeks. He has never dismissed or laughed at my pain. When other providers couldn't figure out what was causing headaches, jaw pain, neck and shoulder pain they started to treat me as though It wasn't there or like I was "hiding something". Dr. Alencar has never made me feel crazy. He also recognized that because of my pain I was having sleep, depression and anxiety issues. Before going to see him I went to my family Dr., 2 chiropractors, a physical therapist, acupuncturist, massage therapist and a neurologist. If you are considering going to see him, I would say - don't wait. He is truly dedicated to helping you. Since I have met him, my injury went from… debilitating to more than manageable. I know that as we continue my treatment, I am only going to continue getting better, he knocks one thing off at a time and what I didn't realize was how all of these things were related. (But he did). He will also make you a part of your medical decisions, explaining the need to know things to you and he teaches you how to help and manage yourself. I have never met a Dr. Like him and I would recommend him to anyone!
