Dr. Francisco Miguel Cervoni, MD

Dr. Cervoni referred me to the wrong specialist. I was billed $300 for the visit to the specialist. Dr. C. would not return my calls (multiple messages) and did not respond to a letter to discuss the matter. The Office Manager told me that the $300 bill was up to me to pay. No ethics. No integrity. Look for a different doctor.

Excellent doctor and on time

We had been going to see Dr. Cervoni ever since he came to the SMH system. We have total confidence in his diagnosis and after care. He is totally compassionate not only with the patient but with the family also. We have gone thru some very tough times medically and we both have the highest regard for him. We recently had to leave Sarasota to live near family. We miss HIM and his wonderful nurse CLAUDIA. They make a dynamic team.

I like Dr. Cervoni because he is very thorough in his diagnosis, conservative in prescribing medicine and very tolerant of my aversion to drugs. He speaks candidly and is forthcoming about the comparative benefits of various medications. His nurse practitioner is quite nice and efficient. Overall, a good medical office.

Dr. Cervoni is not exactly outgoing, but he has a good heart and is actually quite old fashioned in the fact that he really cares about his patients. When I see him, I always have faith that he has my best interest at heart. I also like that he trys to use the least aggressive approach first (like diet/exercise) before writing a script. He is very direct, and tells you the truth in a blunt fashion whether you want to hear it or not. I am not surprised by the comments about the bedside manner, as I can see how people would find it offensive. But if you want to see a Dr that cares, and will tell you the truth, evenif you dont want to hear it, I would strongly recommend him. I've even learned to appreciate his sense of humor :)

Seems competent. Bed side manner could be warmer. Not sure his recommendations for specialists are the very best. Seems to make accurate diagnosis.
