Excellent doctor in every way

Dr. Carrea went through everything with me, he even hand drew a diagram to demonstrate what was wrong. The whole office was awesome, they made sure that I understood the issue and the options. Awesome doctor and staff!!!

I was visiting in another state and ended up in the E.R. complaining of chest pains. When I went in, asked them to do a cardiac catheterization instead of all the expensive tests they do like stress tests, etc.,etc because that would show whether I had an arterial blockage or not. Doctors usually follow procedure which consists of a myriad of tests to rule this or that out first, kinda like mechanics do. I had been through ALL of them, more than once, and, passed them all with flying colors. They decided to go ahead, ignoring my request, and put me through the gauntlet of tests anyway. The results all came back great, electrocardiograms, stress tests, blood work, etc.,etc.,as I knew they would. So, two days later this nurse comes bouncing in my room and cheerfully announced that all my tests were good and that I would be discharged shortly. "Aren't you glad you're going home?", she asked. I replied, "Let's see. I came in here with chest pains, the only test I asked to be done was the… cardiac catherization, which, y'all haven't done, even though you put me through everything else, and now, I'm leaving the hospital with the same pains that I came in with, Mmm, no I'm not glad to be going home." Long story short, they decided to do the catheterization and found out that I had a 90% blockage in one artery and required a stent. I went to St. Mary's, here in Reno, with chest pains again, and, the FIRST test Dr. Carrea ordered, after I told him my story, was the cardiac catheterization! Everything came out good, but, Dr. Carrea really impressed me because instead of doing the "norm", he listened to the patient (me), and thought "outside the box", and, went to the heart of the matter, literally.

HE HAS BEED MY DR FOR OVER 15 YEARS. HE IS THE BEST I TRUST NO ONE BUT HIM.

Dr Carrea is a very warm, caring physician who is very knowledgeable. He has great hands and helped me out a great deal with a heart stent.
