 Dr. Frank Cordray was born and raised in Grove City, Ohio. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio --Phi Beta Kappa) with a BA in Biology and received his D.D.S. degree from Ohio State in 1984. In 1986 he earned his Master of Science degree in orthodontics from Ohio State University, graduating with honors (Phi Kappa Phi). In 1991 he was Board-Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, one of the youngest orthodontists in the country to achieve this honor. In 1994 he completed the two-year continuing education course in comprehensive clinical orthodontics presented by Roth-Williams International and is the former  Teaching Committee Chairman of this very prestigious group.
Dr. Cordray is a Guest Lecturer for the Orthodontics Program at Children's National Medical Center, Washington, D.C., teaches at Ohio State University as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthodontics, and is a member of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists (Eastern Component).  
He has lectured nationally and internationally, has authored five articles on advanced treatment methods, and serves as a Consultant for the two most respected journals in the orthodontic field: the American Journal of Orthodontics and the Angle Orthodontist.
Dr. Cordray received the 2006 Distinguished Service Award given by the Dawson Center for the Advancement of Dentistry.  This  is a national award for the best research paper in dentistry in the year 2005 and was awarded for his  Angle Society research  paper entitled "A three-dimensional analysis of models articulated in the seated condylar position from a deprogrammed asymptomatic population--a prospective study--Part 1"  which was published in the American Journal of  Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in May, 2006.  This paper is quoted extensively on page 106 of  Dr. Dawson's current textbook  "Functional  Occlusion:  From TMJ to Smile Design."  In addition, he recently was awarded the B. Holly Broadbent Sr. Memorial Lectureship for this occlusion research.
In addition to his teaching duties, Dr. Cordray has lectured extensively to graduate orthodontic programs throughout the country (most recently North Carolina, The University of Chicago, NYU, Tennessee, Eastman, University of Michigan, and Harvard) and has been a speaker at both the component level (Northeast Society of Orthodontics (NESO) and Great Lakes Association of Orthodontics (GLAO)) and a four time speaker at the national  AAO/WFO meetings.
His primary area of focus is clinical orthodontics, with emphasis on functional occlusal concepts, gnathology, and the importance of centric relation treatment, the seated condylar position, and articulator use in orthodontic diagnosis, treatment planning, and occlusal finishing.  He also lectures on straight wire appliance treatment mechanics and orthognathic surgical correction and execution.
Dr. Cordray and his wife Kathy live in Worthington with their two daughters Ruthie and Emma. When not in the office, Frank enjoys spending time with his family, running, and playing and coaching basketball.
