I am a native Southern Californian. Even when I was a child, I knew that I wanted to be a doctor, in part because of the compassionate care I saw my mother receive in the last few years of her life. I knew that I wanted to be able to make a real difference in people's lives, and practicing medicine gives me that opportunity.
