Dr. Frank Eugene Gaudio, MD

I don't care about bed side manner. I'm not there to be friends. This doctor saved the lives of my unborn grandson and his teenage mother. In talking to other people who are in healthcare and hearing of our case, everyone agreed that of all the ER physicians who could have been there that night, we had the perfect person. The whole staff never missed a step from the moment the patient rolled into the ER in the middle of several seizures. They went right to work on her immediately. There was no waiting around, she was place above everyone else that night. Dr Gaudio took us aside after they figured out a plan and relayed that info to us, the family. He did not mince words. He said, "The girl is in critical condition, the baby is probably not going to make it". I appreciated hearing an honest evaluation and prepared myself for the worst. It was agonizing. Others in the family did not like hearing those words and thought he was wrong to say those things. If they were writing… this evaluation, they would probably give him 1 star. But, because of his actions and directions, and plan of care, we have both the baby and the mommy alive today.

I saw him twice during my hospital visit. He didn't seem to care and was rather rude during the entire process. He gave me no real explanation on my condition or what I was supposed to do after I left. The Washington Hospital staff was amazing, he on the other hand came off as callous and condescending.
