Dr. Frank Philli Grimaldi, DDS

Dr. Frank Grimaldi is director of Hospital Dentistry at UCSF Medical Center where he specializes in dental treatments in an operating room setting for the developmentally disabled, dental phobic or medically compromised patients. His specialties include restorative dentistry, dentistry for medically compromised patients, conscious sedation for dental treatment, dental treatment under general anesthesia, dental treatment for fearful or phobic patients and medical and legal dental evaluations. His research interests include clinical outcome verification, specifically examining decayed, missing and probed indexes in developmentally disabled patients and comparing their deterioration after two and three years.

Grimaldi earned an undergraduate degree in biology at San Jose State University and a dental degree from UCSF, where he graduated first in his class. He completed residency training in hospital dentistry at UCSF with a focus on dentistry for medically compromised developmentally …disabled or phobic patients. He is a member of the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities, Academy of General Dentistry, American Association of Hospital Dentists, American College of Dentists, California Society of Medicine and Surgery and Omicron Kappa Epsilon national honorary dental society.
