Dr. Hackl graduated from medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas after being in the United States Air Force and a 12 year career as a software engineer. He completed his Anesthesia Residency in Lubbock, Texas and an additional year in pain fellowship under Gabor Racz, M.D. at Texas Tech University. He was recruited to Tulsa to join Tulsa Integrated Pain Services and is trained in all aspects of pain medicine including medical and interventional therapies. He is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. His goal is to relieve pain through interventions and therapy, and to minimize the use of medications as much as possible. Dr. Hackl is married and has three children. He and his wife Virginia enjoy spending time with their family.

My husband has been a patient of Dr Hackl’s for about 8 years. We have NEVER had a more compassionate, caring doctor! He drug tests at every monthly visit before he gives you prescriptions for pain meds, but with the ridiculous government control over opiods we definitely don’t blame him! We love Dr Hackl AND his office staff!

My son has been seeing Dr. Hackl for over 2.5 years. Dr. Hackl is professional, incredibly knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate. He has helped my son so much with his chronic pain from CRPS. I highly recommend him to anyone suffering from chronic pain.

Not a chronic pain...will not talk about solving pain issues or give knowledge of where to go...find someone else. No empathy.

Not only an excellent Doctor but really cares for you as a human being. He's been my doctor for approximately six years. I wouldn't think of going to another doctor.

As a nurse, I have met many doctors. Dr. Hackl is by far my favorite. Great bedside manner, and up to date in all of the techniques of pain management.

You only see Dr. Hackl only one time, the first time you visit. The rest of the time you see either a nurse or a PA. The wait time is an hour or more. If you take ANY anti-anxiety meds, they tell you if you need pain treatment you have to STOP taking any anti-anxiety medication. If you have CHRONIC pain or a HIGH TOLERANCE to narcotics that requires you to take more than 4 pills total (that includes any combination of pain meds. Meaning for example: 2 Narco + 2 zohydro= 4 pills total) a day, this IS NOT the place to go. It is their "policy" not to give more than 4 a day. DEFIANTLY NOT A PILL MILL and DEFIANTLY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PAIN.

Amazing staff and he is a great guy! You can tell he is actually concerned with the patients health and condition. He takes his time with me and explains in detail if i have questions.

If you are looking for a great Pain Management Doctor, DR. Hackl is amazing, he is kind understanding and does not rush when he is in your room he takes his time and actually listens to what you as the patient has to say!!
