Dr. Frank Hao, MD

My father died shortly after Dr. Frank Hao performed an angiogram on his right leg in the fall of 2024. The angiogram was unsuccessful, contrary to Dr. Hao's initial claim that it went well. In fact, as Dr. Hao later admitted to me in the ICU, he nicked my father's artery at a prior bypass site, which caused a blood clot, which then totally shut down what little circulation my father's right leg still had before the surgery when he could still walk. My Dad was rushed back into the E.R. at UCLA just hours after Dr. Hao's angiogram because his foot was ice cold and turning dark purple and my Dad was in horrible pain. The clot was not dealt with by Dr. Hao for several days because he couldn't assemble a team and whatever that was tried by Dr. Hao's team later, lysis and stenting, did not help my father at all. My dad's right foot stayed ice cold and bluish just like after the angiogram. I begged to have another department at UCLA, the vascular surgery department, take a look but I never… heard from anybody. My poor Dad was then just sent home to die and he did die, 6 days later, in horrible pain with his foot having turned black and the tissue death spreading past his ankle. I never ever heard from Dr. Hao again after his admission to me in the ICU."
