First and foremost, I want to discuss the staff. Doris was the first person I spoke with, and she took her time and discussed many aspects in detail, as to educate me on the processes. She went above and beyond with me as a new client, in which never goes to doctors. Thank you, Doris. Secondly, Dr. Ponce was very detailed in various discussions on what I need to get taken care of due to my age. Very professional and more importantly, he showed empathy and care about my wellbeing. Lastly, while following up on my blood work, Cynthia took the call. Remember, this is the first time I have dealt with a doctor's appointment in over 15 years. She went over the next step in care and discussed in detail all that is needed to be done and how it will be done. She was going to assist with research in pharmacies and where medication is readily available, as to not keep me waiting for prescriptions. My long term family doctor retired so I used reviews online to help choose a new physician. I tried him for one year a six or so visits. He must be paying friends and family to write such glowing reviews. He pays no attentional details, never follows up when he says he will, has never performed a physical, does not perform required blood work on stating patients, never has his staff return calls and spends as little time with patients as possible. He practices solo and works eratic hours. So good luck trying to get in touch with his staff. I did a bit of research (which I obviously should have done before my first visit). Seems he didn't have the grades and test scores to be accepted to any US medical schools He attended one of the many medical diploma mills in the Carribean. I graduated in chemical engineering so I took many classes with pre-med students, as both disciplines require some overlapping chemistry, physics, and basic math courses. It was easy to determine early… on which pre-med students would gain acceptance to prestigious medical schools and which would pack their bags for the carribean. Ponce does not refill basic long term meds such as blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. I assume he needs the income since his practice does not seem to be thriving the times I've visited. He practices alone - a watchout according to my physician sister and brother in law. He seems to treat many Medicaid patients, again based on my limited experience. To be fair he seems likable has a reasonably good personality. He is competent to continue prescribing meds that my previous doctor prescribed for chronic condimtions and seems competent to choose the right antibiotics. But I'd never consider seeing him for anything worse than a common cold. I fired him after one year and a half dozen visits. It's very refreshing to again have a caring physician with good listening skills and an air of competence and confidence.

Dr. Ponce has been my PCP for awhile now and I wouldn't go anywhere else. He always takes time and doesn't rush anything. He answers questions and treats you with respect. He has a great memory of what the last visit entailed and is on top of anything related to his patients. Not only that. His staff is also amazing, helpful and friendly.

Following the retirement of our family physician of over 25 years, I was apprehensive about choosing a new doctor and starting all over again. After a great recommendation from an emergency room nurse, I decided to give Dr. Ponce a chance and am happy that I did. I felt very comfortable with him right at the start and appreciate his approach to family care. Dr. Ponce took the time to understand what I was looking for in a doctor/patient relationship and talked about his approach to family care in a manner that was easy to understand.
