Dr. Frank Scafuri, DO

This is THE WORST and most UNPROFESSIONAL medical practice in all of Staten Island. They do not do referrals, the staff that answer the phones are rude and their ideologies of patient care is a joke. This man is responsible for 2 of my family members being hospitalized, due to mistreatment; And he’s the kind of doctor that loves to say “that’s not my problem”. If this is your primary, SAVE YOUR OWN LIFE and go someplace else. Shortly after posting this review (on his other link that he has other terrible reviews on) I was sent a termination letter. No Phone Call or Questions asked. Simple Lack Of Care all around. Dr.Scafuri- I did not forget how you have affected my family, and I don’t care how many pages you create, I will never not repost this review. You deserve 1 star for terrible patient care/ professionalism and you’re lucky I didn’t pursue a lawsuit for retaliatory termination and not filling my families prescriptions and having your secretaries tell me it wasn’t your problem.

I have been a patient for over 10 years and the practice has gone downhill every year. I made an appointment today for a problem I’m having and explained what the problem was to the person that answered the phone. She gave me an appointment. When I was seen by the PA -not the actual doctor- he barely examined me and told me I had to go to a specialist. I asked him why did they make the appointment if I had to see a specialist? I asked why I have to pay co-pay when he didn’t even examine me? I complained to the office manager about having the lack of service and that he didn’t even examine me and she said because “I had to be seen”. I’m done with this practice. I didn’t need to be seen, they only want the co-pay.

t’s bad enough in the past six years I always felt rushed by him and never comfortable after a visit like I had with the doctor whose practice he took over, but I am tired of the deal where all you can see are PA.s and new students. I make appointments to see him direct. Now before he comes into the room, a newbie student walks in and starts examining. No one is supposed to examine you but the doctor himself, especially no one without your consent. After they are done they leave the room and report to him their opinions. Then when the doctor comes into the room he’s only going by what the newbie tells him and he doesn’t even examine you himself. This doctor only created a business there for himself and only in it for the meal ticket. Enough is enough. His PAs are misdiagnosing patients and more problems emerged

I used to LOVE Dr. Scafuri and have been seeing him for almost 18 years. The last few years I can NEVER get an appointment when I am sick. It’s almost like they want you to predict when you will be. This is the 3rd Tuesday in a row I have tried to get a SICK appointment. I was told 7-8pm is the “sick hour” but for the last 3 weeks I’m told it’s “booked”. I have tried the PA and did not have the best experience... a ZPAK DOES NOT FIX EVERYTHING! I was more sick the week after and had to pay AGAIN! The staff does not care and tells you “sorry”. My insurance costs over $200 for a walk in facility. It’s 3 weeks later and I have nothing to take for this viscous sinus infection ??

If I could give zero I would, NP Justin did not listen to me nor take me seriously.. did not even exam me .. .I have been in EMS for 12 years 9 being an EMT and the last 3 as a paramedic.. from what I have learned is alsways listen to your pt. He did not.. I will be condoning another service

I am very pleased with the care I'm receiving from Dr. Frank Scafuri. He's Very caring & concerned about his patients.

Been going to dr. Scafuri for years once he opened his other offices his patients didn't get the same level of care he's spreading himself too thin I can't tell you the last time I saw dr. Scafuri cause there's never an appt so everyone in the forest Abe location was left with physician assistants not fair

Kind, caring, professional, knowledgeable, and we trust our lives with this man.

Dr Scafuri was highly courteous, very respectful and very pleasant in his demeanor. His staff is excellent as well. He seems very competent and accurate in his evaluation and treatment. Populat Dr with busy office and multiple locations. That makes tailoring appointments easier. Proactive patients are best suited for this type of busy practice who will follow up and call for test results etc. Overall quite pleased
