Dr. Franz Omar Desric Smith, MD

Dr Smith was assigned to my husband when he was in the ER. After a cat scan & diagnosis it was determined that surgery was not necessary. It was diverticulitis. I felt he should have called in a gastro doctor. Then he didn’t even come to see him upon discharge.

There is no way to adjust my prior review, which is a real flaw with this site, so I am adding this. My prior review noted that Dr. Smith was not available to share my cancer diagnosis. He was kind enough to reach out to me recently and explain why, to my satisfaction.

Dr. Smith seemed smart with good bedside manner; however, my first disappointment was when he sent me home after a small mass was surgically removed from my arm without any post operative instructions. Even more disappointing was the fact that Dr. Smith could not inform me in person of my cancer diagnosis. He had the nurse share my diagnosis. She explained that Dr. Smith had his own medical situation which prevented him from being in the office and that he felt terrible, but I have to admit to being a bit skeptical. Regardless, I expected a follow up call directly from the doctor but months have passed so I doubt that his happening.
