Dr. Fred Bast was raised and educated in the state of Wisconsin, where he attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated from Marquette Dental School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1968. Upon completing his formal education, he joined the United States Army Dental Corps. and was stationed at Fort Richardson in Anchorage from 1968 to 1970. Upon leaving the Army Dental Corps. he moved to Fairbanks, AK where he started a private practice, which he has enjoyed immensely.
Dr. Fred Bast has served as Treasurer and President of the North Central District Dental Society and the Alaska Dental Society, and served as a delegate to the American Dental Association for four years serving the state of Alaska. He has also been inducted into the International College of Dentists.
Dr. Fred Bast is married to Kathy Bast and they have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. His extracurricular activities are mainly family, flying, hunting, and playing golf in the summertime.
