Undependable, rude, unwilling to return calls or help patients who can’t come to the office

Most knowledgeable and experienced Doctor !! He is the best !

Dr. Fowler provided poor follow up care to this patient. After contacting his assistant and speaking with the infusion nurse about troubling symptoms, I was told that Dr. Fowler has follow up appointments once a year with patients. After I asked about lab tests, simple bloodwork, to see if there was anything off I was told I was not needed. Instead I was told that I could go to Chapel Hill for a second opinion. I had a BMI between 14.9- 16.3% and this doctor was not concerned about why I started losing weight without any changes in my diet or exercise. The scale in the office that I had my infusions done was inaccurate. It consistently had my weight at 8 lbs heavier than my other doctors and my scale. That is a problem when a doctor has an infused medication given to you when the dose is based on weight. Even the infusion nurse said that it was obvious that I was losing weight. I went to sought a second opinion. The new GI was astonished that there was no follow up on my weight… loss. And their scale in this new GI was accurate. After diagnostic procedures and a CT scan, they found a cyst on my liver. It needs monitoring because when it gets bigger it will need to be taken out. Is it pressing on my stomach and making me nauseous 24/7? Does it make my appetite low? Does it make me feel full quickly when I eat? Are my abnormal values on my bloodwork due to this cyst, or is there something else going on? Don't know. But Dr. Fowler should have listened to THIS patient from the beginning. As the doctor who prescribed my infusion and another strong medication, Dr. Fowler should have monitored my labs at least every six months from what I am hearing. Poor patient follow up. Poor patient care.

I am not real good at expressing myself...so I will keep this short...Some people are made to be drs. and Dr. Fowler is one...He is caring, comforting and goes the extra mile...on a scale of 1 to 10..one being low...Dr. Fowler is at least a 15...My husband goes with me on appts. and has complete admiration for Dr. Fowler.....Final thought..Dr. Fowler..thank you for being you! And I can not leave out Lindsey....SUPERB!

This man has saved my life on many occasions..He has treated my severe crohns,behcets and related sb obstructions and complications for fifteen plus years and withought Fred Id have never been able to get through all the surgeries and hospital stays and crises of health. He has always been there with genuine care and right decisions to help get me through it all. Any Soul Fortunate enough to have Dr Fowler as their doctor has been Truely Blessed.

Horrible doctor. It was almost impossible to get him to use "grown up" language when we spoke. I always felt like he was talking to me like a child. Completely ignored multiple conditions I had and it landed me in the hospital numerous times. Very flaky, would often tell me he is calling in medication and I would never get it. I have since switched doctors and am doing much better. Oh, and good luck getting an appointment in a decent amount of time.

Dr. Fowler is one of my favorite doctors. He is very knowledgeable in his craft and treatment plans. At every visit, he focuses on my concerns and issues whereas some doctors don't allow you to finish a sentence before they rattle off some diagnosis you've never heard of. Dr. Fowler cares about his patients. He listens and provides excellent advice and treatment plans that are effective. I would recommend him to anyone that is experienced digestive issues.

He was my mother's doctor. She had liver cancer. Always took his time explaining all options and never made us feel hurried. Great staff and excellent following up with all test and getting all questions answered.

The office staff here has absolutely no customer service skills....always seem to be having a bad day...very rude on phone. BUT the doctor is wonderful!! Shame you have to go through a bunch of unhappy people to get to him!!

I was recently referred to Dr.Fowler as a follow-up to findings from a CT scan and found him to be very courteous and friendly. He took the time to answer my questions and never made me feel rushed or as if he were late for other appointments. He has a very good bedside manner - I wish all doctors were like this. He is definitely my physician of choice for any follow-up treatments.
