He earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis/St. Paul. He completed an internship in family medicine before serving as chief resident in diagnostic radiology at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, Calif. Dr. Klein also completed a fellowship in neuroradiology at the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis. He is a fellow of the American College of Radiology.
