Dr. Fred Robert Moss, MD

I don't typically write reviews, however, my last interaction with Dr. Fred Moss was extremely unprofessional and very alarming. I am someone who battles with Substance Use Disorder and met with Dr. Fred Mass 3 times over the past 3 months. Dr. Fred Moss has a harsh and judgmental personality...so much so that I was dreading seeing him for my 3rd appointment, however, I could not search for a different Psychiatrist and get an appointment in time. During my 3rd appointment with Dr. Fred Moss, I was told that addiction is not a disease, that I was on too many medications (all of which he prescribed or refilled), and that he had to drop me as a patient. My company had reached out to Dr. Fred Moss regarding some paperwork for my short-term disability claim. I asked Dr. Fred Moss is he was willing to fill the documentation out so that my company had a record of seeing him. Dr. Fred Moss's response was "You don't want them to see what I am going to write about you" and he said that he had to… drop me as a patient. I am writing about this because the interaction was so unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful that had I not had a sponsor, been as involved in recovery as I am, etc. someone else would have/could have relapsed or hurt themselves. I was in complete shock regarding how Dr. Fred Moss treated me. Dr. Fred Moss should not be practicing medicine let alone Psychiatry where a professional bedside manner is so crucial. Dr. Fred Moss, in my opinion, needs to significantly change his approach regarding how he treats patients or should no longer practice medicine.

Beware! Ask for proof! There is a person I met who said he was Dr Fred Moss. I never saw a diploma or ant ID I don’t believe this person had any education and I don’t believe he is a professional of any area.

Coaching sessions spent discussing signing up for more sessions or to sign up for Landmark Forum. I spent over $10,000 and in our last session he was very unprofessional when he realized I would not be giving him any more money. He said “I really don’t want to work with you! It’s been no joy working with you. Then he made some unprofessional comments on sexual issues I had told him about. Session ended then he texted me offering me a deal if I could pay him money. Then he texted me that he never wanted to hear from me again unless I sent him $7200.

Tells it like it is but he cares and is knowledgeable.

I am reluctant to call Fred Moss a doctor. I'm not sure how this man can still have a medical license after the way he treated me and other patients in his practice. I was part of his "drug addiction rehab program", during this time I became friends with other addicts in the program that had the same concerns that I did. While sitting in the waiting room he would yell at other patients in his office so loudly that the rest of us could hear. Most addicts have many reasons for their addiction. Not just with the obvious physical addiction to a substance, but with anxiety, depression, and lack of self worth. When I started his program I was hoping that he could help with not just the physical withdraw but also help with the emotional aspect of being an addict. By his own admission he is a recovering alcoholic. So I was very surprised when he would talk down to me, yell at me, imply that I was a failure, and make me feel worse when I was looking to feel better. I don't think it is a… coincidence that he is no longer a qualified doctor on the Suboxone website. I can only imagine how many complaints and negative reviews that he received. Now he makes a living by testifying in court against other doctors. Basically, he is a key witness in a civil lawsuit against another doctor being accused of malpractice. Since I first saw him, almost ten years ago, he has moved his office three times. Could it be that when he stays in one location for too long the community realizes how debilitating his methods really are? In my line of work, if I treated people the way he does I would loose my license which is, in my opinion, precisely what should happen! He isn't "helping" anyone, he is simply helping himself by demeaning his patients to boost his ego and fill his pocket book. This man is a BULLY. I hope the medical board receives enough complaints from patients to finally revoke this man's license to practice in the medical field.

Dr. Moss literally saved my life. He's honest and realistic and had high expectations for me as his patient, to which I appreciated the vote of confidence. SAVED MY LIFE!

I was not a patient, but a coworker of Dr. Moss when he worked at a state psychiatriac hospital. He always late, rude and condescending to other professional staff. He took all the patients on a unit off their medication at the same time and as a result, a patient who was previously stable, became psychotic and hit a staff member. He threw a temper tantrum in a meeting and told everyone they didn't know anything. He tried to kick a table and kicked a staff member's leg instead. It was a very dangerous situation.

Dr.Moss is very discouraging. Worst experience I've had in my life with a doctor.

Come on! What kind of doctor are you? My guess is you or your staff go on this site to post those 5-star reviews on yourself. From my experience, he is rude, cocky, condescending and seemingly mostly interested in making money. I switched psychiatrist several months ago to find help with treating my anxiety and depression, and feel quite a bit better than being under his care.
