Last yr Dr. Acquah seemed very caring and I gave him 5 starts; however, this year all he wants to do is send me to a specialist! He did not know of any long haul covid clinics and there was one 2 towns over where I was only able to go to the pulmonary dept for 2 weeks because it closed. I wanted a script to get a covid antibody test and the nurse told me that he told me that Dr A told me months ago to go to a pulmonary doctor! LIE ! he wanted to help me stop seeing so many specialists. I asked to get a wrist x-ray because he thought I have carpel tunnel and the neck x-ray showed nothing significant so the nurse said he wants me to go to a neurologist ! I had told him my chiropractor told me to get a script from him as the insurance would not cover it if she did! He said that they always say to ask the PRIMARY ! It takes 2 to 3 months to get into see one! This has been going on for almost a year with my tingling fingers that started after I had covid Aug 2024. I asked for blood… work for vitamins esp Vit B and Iron and whatever else I might need. The nurse said no because my vit D was normal when they took that! I was out of my cough medicine with codine as I have a long haul covid cough which his office gave me 6 months prior and the nurse said that there is no place to fill the script. Again a LIE. My pharmacy was trying to fill it but they kept tuning down refills. So I had to go to my Allergist who first gave it to me and she did a refill ! Thank goodness cause the next week I got razor blade throat and could not stop coughing again. I should not have to pay $ to see a specialist to get tests run that he could do for me. And then if need be I could go to a specialist but for a covid antibody blood test so I can decided if i want to get the new covid vaccine as Dr. A has only got 2 covid vaccines and the nurse there did not get any ! What is a primary doctor for these days ?
