The best doctor ever If you have a problem with your liver, go to this doctor

Hands down best doctor I have had. He cares about his patients and although perhaps his bedside manner may not be his strong suit, he is the most thorough and capable physician. I am grateful to be under his care.

He is willing to answer my questions but tends to not give direct answers. The nurse is a lot more helpful with the human connection aspect. Recommended me to an in house nutritionist and they just went in circles about what to eat and didn't give me any specific diet plans to follow or any real help. The part where he works is VERY old. It is clean but not very state of the art or neat.

I met with this doctor twice. I chose him due to his many years experience and he is an MD PhD. Simply put, his heart is not into his job. Mildly dismissive, confused, does not communicate with patients, no sense of caring or urgency. I made a mistake and am trying to find another hepatologist but the U of M hepatology clinic is also out of control and is scattered. No one knows what to do or who to call. Michigan should not be bragging about their national ranking. Really, they are just too big to be caring.

Dr. Askari is so compassionate, caring and thorough. He spent a lot of time with me and I never felt rushed. He answered all of my questions and educated me. This doctor is very competent and genuinely cares. This is something I can rarely say about the doctors I see.

Mocking, argumentative, antagonistic, did not know my symptoms / history. A total waste of time. Don't mention if you pray.
