Dr. Frederick Watson Martin, MD

I was scheduled for a routine induced labor at the hospital when things started going downhill. The on duty nurse was probably in her early to mid 20's and kept ignoring my repeated pleas to her that something was wrong. I was in constant excruciating pain that she tried to brush off as contractions. I then began bleeding bright red which she again tried to brush off as "normal". Dr. Martin just happened to be at the hospital early that morning making rounds and upon immediately entering the room to check on me went into high gear and rushed me into emergency c-section surgery. He held my hand and calmly spoke to me as they worked to calm me down for my anesthesia. When I awoke I learned that my placenta had torn off the side of the wall of my uterus and I was hemorrhaging. I could go in to more details, but you get the picture of the hospital's nurse and her neglect. When I was coming to, I could hear another nurse talking to someone about how he "lit into" the nurse for… letting things progress as far downhill as they did. Maybe I should feel bad, but I don't. I'm glad he did!! Several other nurses stopped by to check on me through my one week stay. All of them bragged on Dr. Martin and what an outstanding job he'd done and how quickly he had worked to not only save me, but save my son's life. I will forever be grateful to him and his head nurse Lynn for all that they did for both of us through everything.

Dr. Martin always took time to go over everything. He is very knowledgeable. He was my everything doctor. I miss him!!
