Dr. Fredric Daum, MD

The visit was pleasant. Dr. Daum answered all my questions and took the time to ask my child how he was doing and how he was feeling, as we are trying to lower his dosage.

We worked with Dr. Daum through his telephone consultation service. While I can see a few of the negative qualities some describe here (he was not always on time and had very strong opinions), his program WORKED for our daughter. He knows his stuff and helped us better understand what was happening for our daughter. While the program didn't cure her encopresis, after years of stress and daily battles, Dr. Daum gave us a system that allowed her to have a normal life which changed our family life for the better! Seeing a doctor that understands the condition so well was a game changer. In my opinion, the pros far outweigh any negatives.

I did Dr. Daum's telemedicine treatment for encopresis with my 8 year old. Every day, for 5 or 6 days, I called him or he called me nightly. Then I called his personal cellphone whenever I needed him. He gave me instructions and helped me time and adjust the medications. Before Dr. Daum, I'd been to at least three other specialists. All made small adjustments but it wasn't until we worked with Daum that my child really got better. It is the best money I've ever spent.

Dr. Daum is the best in his field. If you have a child struggling with encopresis, please make an appointment to see him right away. Our almost 4-year-old was soiling upwards of 15 times per day; which was significantly impacting his daily life. We followed Dr. Daum's detailed potty training plan, and within 5 days our son was a new child. He no longer has fear of the potty, and proudly wears big-boy underwear (accident free) 24/7. Meeting Dr. Daum has been life-changing for our entire family, and our only regret is not scheduling an appointment sooner.

Let me first start by saying that Dr Daum CURED my son. My little guy is 5 , going on 6, and he had a bad case of encopresis. I sought help from doctors at 2 major institutions with no improvement in his condition. My friend came across Dr Daum's website and suggested that I consult with him. The program is intense for the first week and as long as you carry out his exact instructions , you WILL see results. You may have read reviews about his demeanor. He is very strict in his practice and can come across intimidating or difficult, but he needs to be in order for parents to see results. I'm in the medical field myself and can attest that this doctor knows what he is doing, despite what some reviewers have said. I can say today that my son is much happier and is much more attentive at school. He is a changed boy. I highly recommend him to anyone who has a child with this condition. Its the only one that WORKS. It does take a lot of dedication from the parent's end. My husband and I… will be forever indebted to Dr Daum.

Our daughter began Dr Daum's toilet training program due to Encopresis. It was not easy in the beginning but we achieved success with his program and she is now accident free, self initiating, and medication free.

I wholeheartedly recommend this program. It worked for our 6 year old autistic child, when nothing else did. I agree with the comments about his style: If you need warm and fuzzy, look elsewhere, but if you want a doctor who is committed to SUCCESS and who will not give up until a solution is found, Dr Daum is wonderful. Yes, his manner can be a little brusque, but I believe that is because he is working to maximize his time so he can help many families and make time to speak to patients every day if needed. My one piece of practical advice to families considering the program is to line up some support resources (grandparents, sitters, anyone who can help with household tasks and child care if you have other kids. You will need some extra hands especially at the beginning. Also, be mentally ready for challenges but know that is is absolutely, unequivocally worth it.

Dr. Daum was key in toilet training our son. Our son is autistic and has difficulty with communication. Daum is very hands on and we were in constant contact, at least once a day. Daum will change tactics and adjust methods to the changing circumstances to focus on what is working and end what was not working. It took about three months to have my son self-initiating and I dont believe it would have happened without Daum. There has been some comment about Daum's bedside manor. Daum calls it as he sees it so be prepared for straight talk so if you need to be coddled then look for someone else. The proof is in the "pudding" and my son is pooping in the toilet on his own. Thank you Dr. Daum.

Horrible experience. Like many children, my daughter had a Constipation episode, so we proceeded to see Dr. Daum. I had to sit through this seminar before I could even see him. After meeting him,and waiting over an hour in a room with my daughter, and his whole staff left, as we were his last patient, he instructed me what to do with Miralax.Then instructed me to perform this Barbaric method to help my daughter overcome her fears of going potty. To have her stay in the bathroom, ALL DAY. Meaning, when she wakes up, remain in there, for the entire day. Bring meals in there to eat, as well. I was so desperate, I was going to continue this sick procedure, but at the last minute, I said No. Needless to say , I went through a 3 year period with my daughter, on every possible aspect of potty training. My daughter was constantly crossing her legs, and fighting, holding back to go potty. Throughout most of this time was believed was a behaviorial, sensory related issue. Where, in fact, was… the amount of Miralax recommended, which was making her go, small amounts, and at times, hourly. The game changer was, cutting down dosage, and realizing, she was taking in too much Miralax, and throughout this horrible experience, thinking my daughter is avoiding going potty, she in fact is fighting her poopy, to keep coming by crossing her legs. At 5 1/2 my daughter is completely potty trained, no thanks to Dr. Baum. It amazes me how he continues to still be a doctor. By far, the WORST solution for my child's needs. I would NOT recommend him to anyone. What I went through with my daughter would have been done in a faster time, if I chose another doctor. My daughter went through years of unnecessary discomfort, many extra wasted diapers, many underwear, pants, which had to be thrown out. I highly recommend seeing someone else for your child. I'm grateful I took matters into my own hands.

This man is downright mean and nasty. My sons father brought him in for an emergency appointment because he had been vomiting for three days. This man refused to help my son because he had no history on him and the father "doesn't know anything". I am on the phone with the doctor saying i will give you any information you need- he said no i need to make another appointment when I can be there. SENT MY CHILD HOME!
