Dr. Fredrick Joseph Bowers

We found Dr. Bowers to be a really great doctor who cares about his patients and does a terrific job.

Dr. Bowers saw my husband in late 2012 or early 2013 for a colonoscopy. My husband had colon cancer in 2001 and had been having a colonoscopy each year thereafter until he saw Dr. Bowers. Then he was told he didn't need a colonoscopy for another 5 years, It is now Sept. 2015 my husband had to have his colon removed because the cancer tumor was so big the colon was almost closed. It is stage 4 cancer and has spread to the liver. This is the slowest growing types of cancer there is as we have been told by the specialist he is seeing now. I beg to disagree with Dr. Bowers, my husband has been given a life span of about 2 years. If he had continued to have the colonoscopy on an annual basis, this would have probably been caught early on and removed.

They were able to get me in the same day I called and schedule surgery just a dew days later. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I didnt feel rushed during my appointment with Dr.Bowers. He answered every question I had. Very good bedside manner. Excellent experience, highly recommend his services.

Dr. Bowers did my second abdominal hernia surgery and from the initial visit through the follow up visits has been not only available and ready to listen, but also very ready to share the diagnosis, prognosis, and recovery process. His followup visits were timely, Staff extremely courteous and hours appropriate. He even called me on a holiday weekend to see how I was doing after the operation. I highly recommend as one of the best doctors in the Tri-Cities.

I was extremely nervous when first meeting Dr Bowers due to my health problems. However after my initial apprehension subsided, I found him to be very attentive and easy to talk to. He did an excellent job explaining my condition and gave me multiple options toward finding a solution (without being pushy or laying guilt on me). I eventually elected for surgery where I found his bedside manner to be outstanding. He visited me before my procedure and reassured me that everything would be ok. He then visited me after the surgery and checked in on me. He then personally called me the next day to check on my status and ask me if there is anything that I wanted re-explained about the procedure. I was grateful for this because I didn't remember everything he said to me post-op due to my anesthesia. Dr Bowers is an excellent doctor and I would recommend him to anyone who needs help in his field of expertise. He greatly improved my condition.

Dr. Bowers is an outstanding doctor! I give him a A+. He is courteous, knowledgeable, a fabulous surgeon, and has a great bedside manner.
