Dr b is a brilliant surgeon as a rn I can truthfully say he is compassionate very kind confident in his work my husband very frightened had the worse set of knees totally rigid couldn’t walk ten years dr b performed total bilateral knee replacement confidently bec he would never have gone back for second knee dr b is not only organized caring for the pt pre-op but post-op amazing how structurally organized in the care and seeing you back watching your post op care to a t such a wonderful dr my husband is doing amazing it is worth wherever you live get into nyc see this skillful amazing dr

He revised a poorly performed hip replacement back in 2010 and he was awesome. While he may be a bit gruff with his comments, they are 100% realistic and people have a problem with being told the truth that they are trying to avoid. I also had a bad knee from high school sports and a car accident. He was treating the knee for 10-years and he’d get angry when I’d do things that hurt the knee, specifically in the gym. He had no problem telling me that I was being stupid. I wasn’t hurt by him talking to me that way because I could tell that he cared and I was able to see that I was being stupid. He replaced the knee just about three-weeks ago and my rehab is well ahead of schedule. This man is a treasure so don’t let him get away!

Dr. Boettner performed Total Knee Replacements on both my knees, one a few years ago, and one recently. Everything proceeded so flawlessly that I was discharged in less than 3 weeks to return to Florida. If you follow his post-op protocol, amazing results can be achieved. I now feel 20 years younger, and can return to most of my former fitness activities. Many acquaintances who had surgery elsewhere have not had such amazing results. I was so fortunate to be treated for Dr. Boettner in 2019 for a total hip replacement and then later that year for a total knee replacement. The results of both procedures were amazing and I feel like a new person. After years of using medicines and cortisone injections, it feels great not to need anything. Dr. Boettner knows his stuff and his recommendations for using a CPM and ice machine post-knee surgery made all the difference for me as I was up and about in no time.

I have consulted with Dr Boettner for a number of years for a hip condition His knowledge, training and surgical reputation are tops. Unfortunately he is a man of few words and if you don’t pepper him with questions you will get a basic diagnosis treatment plan and he is on to the next patient. I learned more from his PA after the visit than during my 3-5 minutes with the doctor. I received conflicting info regarding the necessity for a hip replacement on 2 consecutive visits several months apart. Think I need to consult with another top HSS surgeon who is known to discuss the medical situation and plan of action. It’s a shame because I believe Dr Boettner is a great surgeon.

Compassionate, professional, attentive to all details, great doctor. My surgery went so well, it is hard to believe I am walking fine, have no need for any devices or help, just 2 weeks out of surgery!!! My rehab has been short and great!!! Thank you sooo much Dr. Boettner!!!!

I had one hip and both knees replaced by Dr. Boettner, and each has greatly improved my life. The hip pain was hideous. Awakening from surgery with no hip pain was miraculous. Post knee surgeries my knee extension was pretty good from the start, and the flexion came fairly quickly. Never needed a walker beyond the first couple of days for any of the surgeries, and they changed my life. Now, five mile walks around the city are routine. I am eternally grateful for his excellent work.

I recently had a Total Hip Replacement done by Dr. Boettner at Hospital for Special Surgery In NYC . I feel extremely fortunate that Dr. Boettner agreed to take my case and treat the arthritis in my right hip . When the time came to do a Total Hip Replacement Dr. Boettner listened to my concerns and we decided to do a mini posterior approach THR . My recovery has been ahead of schedule and allowed me to return to all normal activities totally pain free . I have also been able to return to light recreational activities absolutely pain free . Thanks to Dr. Boettner and all the folks at HSS I am definitely " Back in the Game " !
