Dr. Gabriel Omar De La Garza, MD

Dr. De La Garza spent ample time collaborating and ensuring I understood the diagnosis. He understood my background (working for medical, but I am not clinical) coming into the appointment and checked in with me regarding comprehension and what level I felt comfortable talking at. He explained all of the options, including what could be conclusively ruled out and why (this is huge for me, I just want to understand). He did thorough workup, even calling me in the evening to give additional details he had researched after I left. While I think this should be standard in care, I have infrequently received this degree of care and diligence (i typically constitute a "rare" or "complex" patient). The biopsy he performed for me was done well, and he took the time to teach numerous others throughout the procedure. My only "complaint" was that he made me laugh while I was trying to hold still! Ha! I wish I could remember the joke, as it was exceedingly funny. Regardless, his warmth and empathy… were really appreciated, and I would not hesitate to send my dearest family members to him. I found him to be outstanding in bedside manner. It was refreshing to find a physician who desired to collaborate and hear my thoughts as well.

He’s very rude thinks he’s better than his patients. Cuts you off in the middle of the question like he knows what you’re going to say. Isn’t worried about the patient just in a hurry to get out of there. Annoying. I would not recommend

Dr De La Garza treated my college aged son who had a small procedure done with his nose. Late afternoon my son was experiencing a side effect of the procedure. We called the office and spoke to his nurse, who was fantastic. Dr. De La Garza then called us about 15 minutes later and spoke to us. At 9:15 in the evening Dr. De La Garza called again to check on my son. The following day he called my son and spoke with him personally to see how he was doing. He was fantastic about making us feel our concern was important to him and he wanted to reassure us and care for my son. His office staff was very accommodating to our crazy schedule. We were very pleased. We would highly recommend Dr. De La Garza.
