I would stay away from Dr. Hortobagyi. He may be an academic but he should not see patients. My wife was his patient and he kept us waiting for hours on end for scheduled appointments. When he did show up he was not prepared and it was clear he did not read anything about my wife before meeting with us. He also did not return calls even when my wife was near the end and we really needed him. Never again will I use him.

We took my mom to Dr. Hortobagyi and he made us wait more that 3 hrs to see him even though he knew that my mom was in extreemely poor condition. He does not read the charts in advance and also makes promises that he cannot keep.

WE WENT TO HIM FOR A SECOND OPINION AND HE COMPLETELY MISSED THE CORRECT DIAGNOSIS. WE FOUND OUT ONLY TOO LATE WHAT THE CORRECT DIAGNOSIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN. I WISH WE HAD NEVER WENT TO DR. HORTOBAGYI

Dr. Hortobagyi boasts that he is an expert on breast cancer. He told my mom she had breast cancer and treated her for breast cancer. Even when the treatments were not working he was confident in himself and what he knew. In the end my mom did not have breast cancer but some type of cervical cancer that we would have treated differently if we had known. We lost my mom because Dr. Hortobagyi is so full of himself that he did not question his diagnosis when the treatment was not working and in the end we are paying the price. After our loss we did some research and realised that Dr. Hortobagyi is not as smart as he pretends to be - Dr. Horotbagyi is not the expert that he puts himself out to be. He did not even go to medical school in the United States. He went to school somewhere in South America. I would definitely think twice about relying on his treatment advice. We relied on him and found out too late that he did not know what he was talking about. By the time we got the… correct advice our mom was gone.

Dr. Hortobagyi has absolutely no compasion. He is rude, and completely inconsiderate. I would not recommend him to anyone.

My child died in 2000 after 20 years of breast cancer. Dr. H was her source of strength throughout it all. The news you gave us was not always what we wanted to hear, but she drew strength from your caring manner and your strength. She was mother and father to her adopted son and managed to start the first true health food store in our region. She was active in her church and worked with groups of breast cancer patients .
