Dr. Gabriel Albert Sara, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Gabriel Sara since 2014. He is a phenomenal doctor and human being. He is not only skilled in medicine, but skilled in compassion and interpersonal skills. Other doctors should take lessons from Dr. Sara. I hope he never retires!

Excellent doctor with much human empathy and in the same time very honest and to the point; will dedicate you a sufficient time to explain the treatement plan and will patiently listen to your questions.

First time I went to see Dr. Sara, I was angry, I was scared, I did not want to talk. Dr. Sara's kindness and professional attitude calmed me down. While I initially said no to any chemo, he was able to convince me to receive chemo and reassured me that he will always respect my wishes and my dignity. He managed to keep me alive for now 5 years and yet offered me a good quality of life. I actually now love to see him and his staff. With every visit, I am reassured and feel better and stronger about dealing with my cancer. I feel so lucky to have Dr. Sara and his staff in my life. If you have to face cancer, check Dr. Sara before you start your battle. You can count on him. One of the finest physician I ever met. Thank you Dr. Sara!

Dr. Sara is professional, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I have seen many doctors for many reasons over the years and by far Dr. Sara is the cream of the crop.

Dr. Sara treated my wife for 6 years after she was diagnosed with stage- 4 breast cancer. He is truly an extraordinary physician with skills that match his compassion. At our 1st appointment, he gently advised that there was no cure, but assured us that he would pursue a variety of treatment options that for the most part would maintain a good quality of life. He kept that word, setting her on a course of different therapies that sustained her life and, most importantly, gave a quality of life that was better than we could ever have imagined. At Dr. Sara's encouragement, we traveled extensively and lived life to the fullest. Of course, there were many rough patches--particularly the last 6 months of her life--but the way that Dr. Sara managed her disease was truly remarkable.

I cannot express how fortunate I feel to have Dr. Sara as my physician. He is genuinely caring, supportive, knowledgeable, and experienced. Our visits are never rushed, he listens carefully, and explains my options very patiently. He also has a very wide network of colleagues in the medical field, if there is any need to see someone else for any other reason. I hope I never have to recommend an oncologist to any of my friends, but if I had to, I would only recommend Dr. Sara.

I have had the good fortune to be treated by Dr. Sara since 2011. Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening experience. You need a doctor who listens, discovers how to connect with you, explains with clarity the challenges you face, makes certain you understand what is ahead and yet stays positive and optimistic. He is a rarity in today's medical profession...a committed, compassionate human being. He is devoted to his patients and makes himself completely available.

After having been diagnosed with stage 4, inoperable, pancreatic cancer at the end of 2015, I was fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Sara by another physician of mine. Having been in his care ever since then, I can fully attest to his expertise. He is highly knowledgeable, professional, caring, and honest in all of his work with me. I have always felt that in my serious condition, there is nothing that I cannot say to or ask of him that will not get his full attention. Also, the entire staff in his office and the oncology department at Mount Sinai West have been extraordinarily helpfuI.
