Dr. Gabriel Y Shalmi

This guy tries to squeeze every last dollar out of your insurance at your mouth's expense. His automatic solution for any issue is a root canal. He insists on doing these procedures while he has 3 other appointments waiting on his care. I have never been to this office for less than 2 hours at a time for a non-cleaning procedure ... He will never get to you on time and you will be waiting at least an hour. He never explains the procedures he's doing to you, or the follow up care. I had to ask him for an antibiotic prescription after a root canal! Also, he gets impatient if you ask him any questions or you need any adjustments. This is after charging you thousands of dollars in dental care procedures. Save your teeth and your time and avoid this dentist.

Certifiable scam artists!!! Stay away at all costs! Will destroy your teeth!

This dentist was very impatient with me. He was not considerate of my emotional needs at all. He and his staff were speaking mostly Russian and were talking and laughing about me. I did not tell them that I understand Russian and I was horrified at this behavior! He did not explain the work he was doing in my mouth and I did not trust him. I had to wait more than 45 minutes each time I was there and there was a construction worker in the exam room while I was in the chair. Shalmi was in conversation with the construction worker while he was working with me. I was told to take antibiotics and pain killers with an explanation. I was told to take pain killers without asking about any problems with controlled substances. I was given a amalgam filling when I specifically asked for a composite filling. When I learned that I had been given an amalgam filling, I freaked out and insisted that it be taken out immediately - which he did but not without much conversation and joking in… Russian! When I told him that the mercury is poison to me, he disrespected me by saying you have another amalgam filling in your mouth and you're not dead yet. He said this several times. He didn't even stop to consider that mercury and other heavy metals may be a problem for me regardless of what the "official" ruling is for these fillings. I have a very sensitive system and I have other reactions to these materials that are detrimental to my well being regardless of my mortality. Very insensitive, no patience and extremely unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this person to treat a dog let alone a person I care about.
