Dr. Gabriela Nieves, LCSW, CCTP

I am a psychotherapist, licensed clinical social worker, a certified clinical trauma professional and I practice trauma-informed (and hope-centered) cognitive behavioral therapy. My background is unique in that prior to becoming a psychotherapist I was a law enforcement officer for 20 years where I worked with survivors of extreme trauma. I will assist you in developing a psychological mindset that drives resilient behaviors. I work with individuals to process uncomfortable feelings from a traumatic past or a current difficult life situation. I also assist clients who struggle with a mental health disorder. The future can be better, and I want you to know that you have the power to make it so. I use evidenced based and well-researched methods to help clients identify their barriers with workable solutions and alternative pathways. I will help you regulate your beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors. My specialty is in working with unrecognized trauma in clients. When emotional trauma is left unresolved, your sense of self becomes broken. I will guide you in having a healthy sense of your own being and place in the world.
