Dr. Gail Margaret Matthews, MD

Dr Matthews is a hero in our eyes! She is the most professional, caring and compassionate doctor we have ever encountered! My daughter presented with new onset seizures and respiratory arrest! Dr. Matthews visited with her on numerous occasions throughout the days while she was vented! Just having her presence there truly alleviated much of our anxieties, fears and concerns! My daughter's case and presenting signs and symptoms perplexed the numerous doctors on her case! Dr Matthews did not stop there, she researched and consulted fellow and numerous colleagues! We are ever so grateful for the excellent care Dr. Matthews bestowed upon her and the entire family! She not only focused on the patient, but on all those affected by the situation! Thank you Dr. Matthews for being there when we needed you the most!

I had just found out I was pregnant with twins when I was referred by my regular obgyn to Dr. Matthews. Unfortunately I have a bicornunate uterus with a septum going down the middle so this pregnancy is considered extremely high risk. I went to consult with the doctor in hopes to get some positive encouraging news yet I found just the opposite. She took me and my mother in her office for an hour as I hysterically cried because of her disgusting bedside manner and as she told me I had less than a 20 percent chance of even taking home one of these babies. That I should pray they miscarry on their own so I can go have surgery to correct my uterus before I try again. She said she's never seen my condition and twins ever successful so she'd have to have her "librarian" look up some info on it. And then proceeded to say "if I had a crystal ball I'd give it to you" I left this office a complete wreck being I have never been pregnant before, shaking and immediately calling every doctor I could… possibly find to get help. I would never ever call Gail Matthews back or ever step foot in her office again. She is a horrible person and has no concern for people's feelings or their babies well being. I even called my referring obgyn and told them I would never be returning to her again either for even sending me to such a monster. I just hope she knows now I found a wonderful doctor who gave me hope and I am now 30 weeks pregnant with two healthy babies! So thanks a lot for your negative and completely wrong advice! She should be ashamed of herself and I pray people who are in rare situations never go to you so you can't cause them the unnecessary stress you caused me. And to boot she has the nerve to bill me a non-itemizied 1100 bill for the consult visit. I don't care if I have to go into collections this woman will never get one cent from me! Stay away. Pregnant woman don't ever need to be put through this kind of torture.

Dr. Matthews is an outstanding physician. She treated me for the high risk pregnancy of my son. Dr. Matthews diagnosed our son with a rare birth defect on an ultrasound earlier than many doctors would have ever picked up on. Not only is she one of the most brilliant doctors I have met but she is also a concerned, honest and empathic woman committed to providing her patients with the most competent and quality care. Prior to this difficult pregnancy I had a post natal loss. There is no doubt in my mind I would have been able to get through this most recent pregnancy without her unfailing support. She made herself readily accessible to me and showed me with tremendous kindness. She is a wonderful person.

Dr. Gail MAtthews is money hungry and does not show concern for her patients. I went for one visit and only once because after that visit I needed to find a new doctor. Not only did she tell me she was shocked I was not obese because I was diabetic ( I weigh 135 pds) but also wanted to abort the baby if we didn't like test results. Further to mention I declined those tests. As well she is billing me 3 months after I stopped seeing her for consultations I never had! This woman does not care about you or your baby!

Dr. Matthews is a billing machine. All she does is nickel and dime you for as much as she can. Her bedside manner is terrible, throwing out bottom line worst case scenarios as plausible options. She causes undue stress on her patients, ruined the joy of my pregnancy and just bill, bill, bill for every little thing she possibly can. She is a crook.

Dr. Matthews was my physician back in 2003 at the University of Kentucky. She is an excellent dr. She was always there for me and answered my all my questions. It was a very complicated pregnancy with multiple birth defects but she did every test she could to try to prepare us for what was wrong with our baby. We woudln't have made it through the pregnancy without her. It's been 6 years now and I still think of her on a regular basis.

Dr. Matthews is one of the best doctors that I have ever received care from. She is friendly and caring as well as very professional. She has a vast knowledge of medical problems a woman might suffer during pregnancy and she will do everything in her power to try to figure out what is causing the problem and rememdy it.
