Dr. Gale Marie England, MD

I would give zero if I could. My whole family hates this woman. They know that I went to all of my appointments, I did all of my follow ups. I saw her every six months. They kept telling me the pain in discharge in my right breast was something else, not breast cancer. Welp. She was wrong. I have stage 4 breast cancer, IT STARTED IN MY RIGHT BREAST! When I got diagnosed, her office said she couldn’t see me for three weeks(must have been on vacation again). She lied in the after visit notes. When I went back and read them it said she offered me “pre-chemo”. I’ve never heard of that until I went back and read the post appointment notes after I was diagnosed. Don’t walk away from this lady, run. If you have to see a doctor in that group, Dr. Israel is wonderful.

Dr England is very uncaring. She thinks taking a golf ball size rumor out of the breast won’t leave a dent. Please. Also said that radiation won’t shrink the breast that is incorrect. I’m glad I went elsewhere.

I saw Dr. England when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018. She classified me as a stage one, and postponed my surgery for over a month due to a personal vacation. After my surgery, it was found that my breast cancer has spread into 14 of my lymph nodes. I received 12 rounds of chemo and 24 rounds of radiation. I followed up with her for approximately two years. Her laissez-faire attitude towards my cancer treatment was unforgivable.I was deemed cancer free. In 2020 on an unrelated scan it was found that my cancer has metastasized to my liver, my spine and my lungs. I’ve been under going progressively aggressive treatments for my cancer since then. I, of course changed doctors. I am now seen by a team at Loyola. My advice to you is to go to a teaching hospital. I would not recommend Dr. England to anyone.

Dr England saw me right away and took really good care of me. She was compassionate and answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend her!

I saw Dr.England in 2015, she was highly recommended by my gynecologist after I had suspicious spots found in both breasts. First office visit, in hide sight it should have been my last with her, she seemed cold and no caring bed side manner at all. She scheduled biopsy for me. One spot on my breast was supposedly taken care of by the biopsy, the other breast would need a surgical biopsy. You think she would show a little compassion telling this but a dead fish has more compassion than she does. I told her numerous times that my job is a very physical job and that I would need a medical excuse after surgery, she wrote one for 5 days, more on this later. Day of surgery she still showed no compassion at all, very cold and sterile. Day after surgery, I am completely miserable and have a horrible rash, I call her office and the receptionist and her nurse are rude and dismissive of me. They said she would call me back, of course no call comes so I went to urgent care. Urgent care calls… her office and gets them to see me. When I get to Dr.England’s office her nurse yells at me for going to urgent care. It turns out surgical scrub wasn’t diluted properly and it gave me a rash. When I went for my surgical follow-up 10 days later, she looked at my incision and said I wasn’t healing as quickly as she thought!?! I told her it is because I don’t sit at a desk and my job is VERY physical but that she only gave me a excuse for 5 days. She kind of chuckled and said “oh, I should have made it longer” Never once did Dr.England suggest I meet with a oncologist. Fast forward to 2020, and I am diagnosed with breast cancer in the breast that just had a biopsy done. The tumor is in the same place as the marker was put in back in 2015. I am now left wondering that if Dr.England had recommended (after all she is a “great” breast surgeon)seeing a oncologist in 2015 if I would be battling stage 2 breast cancer right now.

She looked out the window and talked about the rainbow she saw out there and then calmly told me that I couldn’t have my surgery for another seven weeks because she was going on vacation. She told me not to worry, that I was stage one with little likelihood of lymph node involvement. Seven weeks later I had the surgery with 14 lymph nodes removed. Fast forward to a year and 1/2. Cancer is back again. Obviously not saying it’s Dr. England’s fault, but her lies a fair in compassionate She told me not to worry, that I was stage one with little likelihood of lymph node involvement. Can’t help but thinking of seven Weeks might made a difference. Thanks for nothing. Maybe… someday you’ll be on the other side of the equation. Scared and afraid and at the mercy of An impassionate professional.

just wanted to share my experience with regarding a scheduled appointment. When arriving to Good Samaritan I arrived at 4:00 in the physicians office building, I there waited for help as I could not find your name on the board. I then waited to be helped only to be rerouted to the main hospital. From there a volunteer walked me through the building over to the North Building, I was directed to go to the 2nd floor, and then arrived to a behavior health unit, wrong location. The nice lady guided me though again another elevator to the first floor, where I again had to ask for assistance. I arrived to your office at 4:25 to be told I needed to be rescheduled for my 4:30 appointment. I asked the receptionist if you would please reconsider as I know my history and information is available in Epic, again I was turned away to reschedule as you were dismissive to your own staff. As I do value your time, the professionalism and consideration of my personal experience of being turned… away for a 4:30 appointment at 4:25 does speak volumes and show you really don’t care about your patients.

She is very pleasant while convincing you to have the surgery but... does not offer any support at all post surgery. Her staff tries hard to fill in for her. After Dr England cashes her check she finished with you. So unlike any Northwestern trained Physician I have ever encountered. RUN THE OTHER WAY

The most umconpassionate doctor, or possibly human, I have ever encountered. Would advise anyone to find another breast surgeon.

Caring, compassionate, and listens. Answers all questions until patient and family understand. Staff is the same Excellent experience for a bad situation!
