Dr. Galen Neil Vonk, MD

Dr. Vonk was very helpful. I've seen two other cardiologists in the past year or so. I had a mild heart attack a few years ago and I've been having some weird symptoms recently. Neither of the other doctors seemed to be much help, they basically said it was normal and just to keep an eye on it. Dr. Vonk actually tried to help me. He answered all of my questions and kept trying to find the problem. In the end, I had to have surgery, and I really think that because of this Dr. Vonk saved my life. I would definitely recommend him to anyone having heart issues.

Would never recommend this physician to anyone. He is far too taken with himself and his own business to give his patients the time and attention they need.

My husband was having a rare high blood pressure condition and episodes that mimic a heart attack. Met with Dr. Vonk for a very brief period in his office after being referred to him because of these mysterious episodes. Dr. Vonk did not say much during the visit, but just figured because he didn't know much at the time. An Angiogram/Cath was scheduled for my husband. After the procedure, Dr. Vonk came in to speak with me, his wife, and again, very short and just no personality at all. Dr. Vonk did not even explain every detail of the test as I had to find out all the actual things that happened from my husband, who was drugged during the test and luckily remembered. Dr. Vonk just left the room after explaining the procedure results to me without even saying good-bye or anything. In fact, I had to get his attention in the hall to get him to write the blood pressure prescriptions my husband needed. Very impersonable doctor. I'm truly surprised that he has been a successful… doctor as his bedside manner is just plain awful. I don't suppose doctors realize that they are employed by the patient and when the patient is paying them SO much money, it is their job and duty to communicate with the patient and actually speak and answer questions and not just run off. That is unacceptable. Even though Dr. Vonk is a heart doctor, he seems to be lacking one of his own.
