Dr. Garland Lee Forbes

I went for a root canal from a referral of the Veterans Administration. I had no pain before. The root canal was due to an x-ray that looked very bad. I did not go numb from the shots. The doctor and his assistant were vague about the type of medication given. They told me I wasn't numb because of anxiety and needed to be sedated. They actually put pain medication inside the open tooth, which was also ineffective. After about 45 minutes and pain that would not reduce, I was told we were out of time. The doctor left and the assistant finished a temporary filling. I have not had problems previously with dentists and have since seen 3 other dentists, one for an extraction of that tooth, one for a root canal on the other side, and a primary dentist. I had no problems with those dentists, with pain or anxiety. I have since had pain in various other teeth and suspect I may have a generalized infection, but don't know how to prove that one way or the other. I would not go back to this… dentist. The staff was nice, and the office was clean and comfortable, but professionalism and caring was lacking,
