Dr. Garrett Christian Zella, MD

Dr. Zella is amazing! My daughter has loved our visits and Dr Zella has helped her so much! He is warm and funny and I’ve heard from tons of parents who feel just the same - so I’ve suggested him to many of our friends already! And the nurses who work with him (at least on the phone) are also awesome and have helped us with so many issues!

After years of seeing mediocre pediatric specialists for my son's innumerable medical issues, we finally found an exceptional clinician -- Dr. Zella. Dr. Zella is incredibly knowledgeable, warm, compassionate, and funny. He immediately won over my 10-year-old with his humor and easily understood explanations. Dr. Zella cares deeply about his patients, and when you're meeting with him, he's focused on you and your child. I have recommended Dr. Zella to many other families, who all report back that Dr. Zella is amazing.

I wish I could give him zero stars. He is the most arrogant person I've ever met. He is rude and two-faced. He at first acts like he cares, and will then try in any way possible to get rid of you. At the end of the day, he gives you a diagnosis and stops caring after that. He is a liar. He will say something, and when you reference it later on, he acts like you are making it up. He is awful at communicating. It took 10-20 calls just to hear back about test results. He is always extremely late, you almost always will wait 1-2 hours past your appointment time to see him. Don't even get me started on his stupid fake laugh...

We got in with Dr. Zella on an urgent basis (which is very rare) and right away he wanted to find out what is wrong with my brother. On the day of his Endoscopy, he was very nervous and he right away made him feel better about everything that was going on! I can’t say enough about him! If you need a GI doctor, he’s the man! Great sense of humor, great communication and just everything about him is amazing! ????????

For years, I searched for a pediatric gastroenterologist who had the perfect blend of skill, intelligence, and humor. I wanted a doctor who could relate to my child and me, and put both of us at ease. Dr. Zella is that doctor – one who cares deeply about his patients and their families. Our connection with Dr. Zella was immediate and genuine. As a parent, I unreservedly trust Dr. Zella. Even more impressively, my child trusts him. Simply stated, Dr. Zella is low on ego, high on compassion, and just an incredible clinician. I never feel rushed during our appointments. I always leave Dr. Zella’s office feeling more informed, heard, and fortunate to be under his care. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Zella as a pediatric gastroenterologist. His skill, passion, and disposition are unrivaled.

Doctor Zella is my all-time favorite doctor! I took my son to many good doctors who could not find out what was wrong with my son. Doctor Zella was amazing and helped diagnose him properly and gave him the care that he needed immediately. If there is ever a cloning device for humans, doctor Zella needs to be first in line! I will never forget how calm and comfortable he made my son and how warm and approachable he is every single time we have to visit Tufts. We now look forward to our doctor appointments!!!

He’s got good bedside manner and that’s it. He will not follow up with you, he will not return or make phone calls will not answer messages. I was supposed to bring my daughter in for blood tests every month since taking a new medicine and have not heard from him since she started it. He doesn’t care, you won’t hear from him even if you’re supposed to have monthly appointments. Do yourself and your child a huge favor and go to Boston children’s hospital.

As a mother, I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Zella. My son was nervous going in and Dr. Zella immediately put us both at ease. He is so knowledgeable and yet truly listened and clearly explained the treatment plan. I’d recommend him to anyone!

Not pleased at all. He's a nice man. But he and the staff can't get the jist of how to reply to phone calls and emails. We left. He's also very pro drug. But knowledgeable and good bedside manner for sure

Dr Zella is the only physician who took the time to determine what was wrong and help my Kids feel better
