I had to wait 6 months to have Inguinal and umbilical hernia surgery due to a blood clot on my leg. Dr. Jacobsen recommended to wait six months to let the blood thinners work. I am glad I chose Dr. Jacobsen and team Dr. Reeves and Dr. Hu. They did a wonderful procedure. It's been 17 days since my operation and I feel great.

While Dr. Jacobsen has competency as a surgeon, his affiliation with UC San Diego is reason enough to avoid. UC San Diego is a terrible hospital, has poor service, and is a complete ripoff.

While Dr. Jacobsen is a competent surgeon and is highly skilled, I would still not go to him ever again because of his affiliation with UC San Diego hospital. UC San Diego hospital is a poorly run operation and is a complete ripoff for any patient.

One can never say surgery is fun, but Dr. Jacobsen and the Ucsd staff in his office and at the La Jolla hospital were kind, reassuring, thoughtful, and kept things light. Most important, the operation went very smoothly, and I never had as much pain after the operation as the hernia caused on occasion beforehand. In fact, I didn’t have to take the opioid pain medicine at all, and only ibuprofen with Tylenol once. It’s been three weeks since the operation and I am virtually pain free. Being 70, and not expecting to heal like a 20-year-old, I was both surprised and gratified. And Dr. Jacobsen is one very skilled surgeon.

When it comes to Surgeons, Dr. J is in the FRONT ROW!!!! Head and Shoulders above the rest!!! You can put Mind at rest with the Results! A True Pro!! Thank You Dr. J. for a Superb Job. Chief G. USN Retired.

I have been operated on by Dr Jacobsen 3 times in the last few years, with the latest time being yesterday for a hernia, from which I am already up and about. Not only has he performed the surgeries flawlessly, I have never experienced much if any pain (no need to take pain killers) AND I have NO SCARS. Let me repeat that, 3 operations ( left and right hernias and one gall bladder removal-all laparoscopic) and NO SCARS, NO AFTEREFFECTS, NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. PLUS, he's a very nice fellow who LISTENS to everything you say-and acts on it.

I was never worried. Dr. Jacobsen has the best staff and I was well cared for. He made me comfortable and sure with every step of the journey. Thank you. My new life is going to be wonderful.
