Dr. Gary W Bailey, DO

I wish to thank Dr. Bailey and Andrea for years of dedicated care . Coming to your office is like the dealing with trusted family. Dr. Bailey has treated my medical condition for years while supporting my whole health and wellness. The unique combination of medical care and personal interest in his patients overall is what makes Dr. Bailey a great doctor.

When I was 20, my parents had me go to him. I was at a normal weight and he's definitely not the pinnacle of health, to say the least, but he asked me: "Have you always been this overweight?" He also proceeded to mock me for attending the University of Michigan. Fast forward to my parents being stubborn baby boomers and refused to see anyone else but him -- my dad had undiagnosed, serious disease he'd been trying to tell Dr. Bailey about for years. His response? "You're just getting old." Thanks for ruining years of my father's life. I'd sue him if I could. Horrible, horrible person. Hey Bailey - maybe you should stop listening to your crazy conspiracy theory talk radio you blast on your loudspeakers and learn to be a more compassionate person, since you're so f'in religious. Jesus certainly wouldn't do to his patients what you did. Horrible.

I been seeing the doctor for 8. Year,s his staff is very polite always and all the years I have been going to him I never had to wait more then 5 minutes top,s before he get,s in the exam room ,He never beet,s around the bush.And tells you like it is and he makes sure that you under stand what he is telling you about your complaint. he expects you to follow instructions and rules, you can ask him anything and will explain in details. So I will give him and his staff 5 stars

It has taken me a long time to write this review. I have see Dr Bailey on and off for a few years. At my last visit, he said "How in the h*** are you this fat?" I told him I was on a new medication that I believed was causing some recent weight gain. He told me "The medication isn't making you fat, your mouth is!" He then proceeded to tell me I have a psychological problem and gave a me card for counseling via phone. He said the woman that does counseling by phone is about the only woman he respects professionally. I have never felt as bad about myself as I did that day. I would never recommend ANYONE to pay to be treated with such disregard and disrespect.

Yes, this doctor does make inappropriate comments and jokes, as one review stated. As an example, I arrived for my appointment with a University of Michigan t-shirt on, and he said, "I should tear that shirt right off of you" Quite frankly the comment stunned me and I said nothing. It also made me angry. During a later appointment I said, "I was going to wear my U of M t-shirt but I didn't want to listen to you whine. He shut right up. If you are not willing to slap him down verbally if he gets out of line, move on. He can be caustic, so it's up to you if you are willing to put up with it. I don't, so I get along fine with him.

Knows his business.

Stay away from this Doctor. The office is seedy, the staff rude and Dr. Bailey is a creeper. He tells extremely inappropriate jokes and crosses the line of inappropriate behavior.

Office unorganized. Dilapidated physical facility (roof leaks in exam rooms, etc.) Has not modernized practice in decades. Misdiagnosed very basic conditions with both me and my spouse.

My boyfriend is going for weight loss. I think the program is shady and very unhealthy. put him on blood pressure meds and he doesn't even have high blood pressure. this Dr. has never met him and said he had high blood pressure, wouldn't his primary know this?? keeping him on meds that should not exceed twelve weeks. yeah, he had lost weight but at the cost of other health issues. ridiculous!!!!! don't even want to give a star but I have to, to write a review!!

I did not need to be reminded I was obese. Dr. Bailey has a successful weight loss program but I never went there for that. The first time was a general checkup. When I walked up to the window to check in the nurse immediately said, quite loudly I might add, "Are you here for weight loss?". Um no. I said I had an appointment. The second time I went I was very sick and scared. Again as soon as I walked up to the window the same nurse said it. Holding back tears of embarrassment I said no that I had an appointment. Apparently the dr was not told why i was there and treated me as though I was a weight loss patient. I have recently lost over 40 lbs on my own no thanks to them. I have not returned in three years.
