Gary A. Bartholomew, DMD
Dr. Bartholomew was born in the Midwest and raised in Griffin, Georgia. …After graduating high school he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacology from Auburn University. After practicing Pharmacology for a year, he chose to continue his education at the University of Alabama Birmingham and was awarded his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree in 1985, finishing at the top of his class. He opted to further his training with a hospital based residency in New Hyde Park, New York with an emphasis on dental surgery, trauma, pediatrics and pathology. He then returned to UAB Hospitals as a chief resident where he trained in general anesthesia and treating the medically compromised patient and was involved in research. While there, he coauthored a chapter for a textbook in treating the special and medically compromised dental patient.
In 1987 Dr. Bartholomew entered private practice and in 1997, he opened his office in the Eagles Landing area of Stockbridge, Georgia. Over the past two plus decades he has built a reputable practice and earned the respect of his patients and colleagues in the community. Dr. Bartholomew has continued his training by taking many courses in his areas of interest including cosmetic and esthetic dentistry, implant placement and restoration, crown and bridge work, full mouth rehabilitation, dental occlusion, orthodontics, endodontics, and TMJ management. He is also a student of dental technology and utilizes the latest technology in dental diagnosis, imaging and cad-cam dentistry as well as state of the art sterilization techniques.
Dr. Bartholomew also serves as the Dental Director for the Hands of Hope Clinic in Stockbridge. The clinic offers free services to low income, uninsured residences of Henry County. He also is involved in Georgia Dental Association where he is the statewide liaison for the DRN under Membership Services. Dr. Bartholomew also serves as the Board Chairman for the Dental Hygiene Program at Clayton State University.
Dr. Bartholomew resides in McDonough has been married to his wife Bronwyn for ten years. They have four children; a daughter named Brynn and their three sons: Peyton, Zach, and Alex. His greatest pleasure comes from spending time with family and training his Labrador Retrievers. Dr. Bartholomew is also an avid hunter and fisherman, and always enjoys getaways to the lake house and Arkansas duck hunting. He also enjoys sports in general, golf and college football in particular.
