Dr. Gary Belen, MD

Named a Top Ophthalmology Doctor by 5280 magazine. Dr. Belen is board certified in ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma. He also has extensive experience in advanced cataract surgery techniques, including premium IOLs that correct presbyopia and astigmatism.

Gary Belen, MD received his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and his medical degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. After medical school, he finished a preliminary medicine internship at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco and then performed his residency training in ophthalmology at Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore where he also served as Chief Resident during his final year of residency. After residency, he completed a glaucoma fellowship at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Dr. Belen is board certified in ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of …Ophthalmology. He presented his ocular research through Maryland General Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He has lectured for numerous professional continuing medical education courses.

Dr. Belen specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma. He also has extensive experience in advanced cataract surgery techniques, including premium intraocular lenses that correct presbyopia and astigmatism. He is committed to being at the forefront of the latest treatments for both glaucoma and cataracts so that he may continue to provide only the best care for his patients.

When out of the office, Dr. Belen enjoys searching the world for adventure. Recent travels have taken him to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro, diving in the Maldives, hiking through Patagonia and visiting the Tiger’s Nest in Bhutan.
