Dr. Gary David Blake, MD

After a perfectly normal pregnancy, at thirty five years of age, Dr. Blake surprised me at 38 weeks that he wanted to induce me at 39 weeks. He said my uterus was old and was getting older by the day, that there was no time to waste and I would not be able to do it on my own. I went against my instinct and listened to my doctor, assuming he knew best. Dr. Blake walked out on my husband and me when questioning him about the process and why it was necessary. He was cold and insulted me on many occasions, including right after my (of course it was going to happen) cesarean and in front of family members. If I knew then (during my first pregnancy), what I know now, I would have never fallen for his drug induced trap. I feel I was taken advantage of and years later I am still emotionally scarred from the entire experience. To top it off, he said I was no longer welcome in his office after he wanted me to pay a bill directly and I continually asked for it to go through my insurance… company. He accused me of refusing to pay and wrote me a nasty letter telling me it was patients like me that made him want to leave the profession. I would NEVER recommend this doctor to any woman! I have since had two more children (by cesarean based on my first experience) by wonderful doctors, instilling my faith in the industry once again.

It took me a while to warm up to Dr. Blake, but I think that's more my issue than his. He will take the time to sit and talk with you when you have questions. If you don't, he gets you in and out fast. Mom and baby are happy and healthy and for that, I would see him again for my next pregnancy.

Saw Dr. Blake and staff the entire pregnancy of my 4th child. Dr. Blake's office and staff are always friendly and have fantastic time management skills. I've never had a doctor's office where you didn't have to plan 2 hours out of your day. Every visit was in and out with no hang ups. Dr. Blake was always attentive and willing to answer any and all questions but doesn't waste time. I was scheduled for an induction at 7am and didn't deliver the baby until 3am the next day. Dr. Blake was there from start to end as promised. He's got to be the last doctor on earth who wants to deliver all of his own patient's babies, kind of a blast from the past. No passing around to the "on call" doctor. We went thru 3 or 4 cycles of nurses and Anethesiologists but Dr. Blake was there the whole time! He is top notice and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Do not fall for his c-section trap. Get a second opinion, he would say anything to put you under knife for more money. All nurses in Sharp hospital agree that most of patients with postpartum issues are his patient.

Everything about my experience with Dr. Blake was just amazing. He was caring and listened to all of my concerns. I will never go to another OB.

Dr. Blake robbed me of a natural delivery....instead I got a scheduled induction which lead to a c-section for no good reason. A horrible experience by someone I thought was to be trusted. He was rude and made inappropriate comments. Totally unprofessional.

Dr Blake is an excellent Doctor with amazing bedside manner. There's nothing to not like about him or his office staff. They're a great team.

I had Dr Blake for the last 5 months of pregnancy. Never had to wait more than a few min in office- his staff was always helpful and sweet- esp with the disability paperwork fiasco I had. He answered all my questions during visits- he listened to me and my physical concerns and treated me accordingly. Kinda bummed that he hardly did any ultrasounds- I wanted to see baby as much as possible buy only had 1 ultrasound with him for the entire last 5 months. 3 and a half wks early I was Miserable and baby was big and healthy- he delivered the day of my checkup although my csection was already 2 wks away. My husband was ticked off that he was chatting about a ski trip with other dr during the csection- didn't bug me that much. I was relieved to be having baby finally!

I was 2 and a half hours for my appointment and within 5 minutes they seen me anyway. The appointment was quick and he listen to me and we worked together to see what would work best for me and my broken pelvis and even told me what he thought the sex was at 13 weeks. I cant wait to go back and the staff is so sweet and caring and I like that the office isnt really busy you get in and out quickly to go about your day. Oh and all the pics of the babies everywhere is so adorable!!

Dr Blake saw me through 2 problem pregnancies and 7 miscarraiges. He and his office were caring and supportive. His diagnosis was acurate and his compassion will never be forgotten.
