Dr. Gary Andrew Chinman, MD

As others have said, seems more interested in hearing his own voice than having an open listening session to accurately diagnose your problem. Is dismissive and condescending while at the same time not appearing to be too knowledgeable about the world or other experiences outside of his limited ones in MA. Somewhat of a buffoon.

I almost feel sorry for the individual who submitted the obviously phoney reviews below on Nov 3 & Oct 22 2018. I know Dr. Chinman well: he is caring, insightful, effective and has a warm sense of humor. In contrast, some people cannot get out of their own way, don’t know how to succeed and viciously lash out to tear down others. And I should know: I used to be like that myself until I got help from Dr. Chinman. I was brutal, challenged him openly, even argued frequently until he helped me understand myself. And he did it all in a completely professional way. No doubt my positive comments will likely provoke more dishonest, vicious remarks from this individual, which only proves my point: some people can’t get out of their own way.

Trying to find a psychiatrist in Boston was a complete pain, so I was grateful he had openings (maybe that's a bad sign?). Anyway, I've seen him for quite a while now and he's definitely helped me with some issues I've had going on. I do see how people would think he has a weird personality, but I've always thought he was extremely nice.

He is able to help me understand my problems and help me solve them. He is a very caring and smart doctor. He works with me like an ally so we can work on problems together. I have even told my friends about him and one of them sees Dr. Chinman too.

Dr Chinman listened to my problems. He is thoughful and really smart. He helped me so much. I would recommend him to anyone, even my family. I am so grateful for the excellent care I have received.

Dr. Chinman helped me a lot, by being so understanding/ insightful and treating me with respect and sensitivity. He is a nice guy AND a good doctor. He listens well and he is smart. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Chinman is professional and caring, very smart and down-to-earth, but best of all he's easy to talk to and he understands me. More than once I've been surprised by how much he gets what I'm going through.
