Dr. Gary Forrest Cox, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Cox for over 10 years. He is an amazing doctor. I would go to see him for advice on non-related dermatology problems because of his vast knowledge and dedication. Along with Dr. Cox comes his business office that always greets you with a smile, and is fast and efficient. What also impresses me is his staff of PAs and nurses who are always so pleasant and listen to your reason for seeing the doctor. Just recently, I was at the office for a 6 month exam. Just to give you an idea of how my visit went: Marylin, a registered nurse, took my vitals, listened to the reason for my visit, took notes for the doctor and pictures for his review, along with my current medications and updated procedures that I had done. Maylin was very thorough so that when Dr. Cox came to examine me, he knew exactly what to look at, and did a full examination as well. He always greets me with a smile and makes me feel special. He listened to my concerns and had one of his very capable… and talented PAs named Jenna remove two small moles that I asked if they could be taken off. Under his direction, she did so, like a surgeon. I could have asked him to do it, but I felt comfortable having Jenna do it, because I knew Dr. Cox had 100% confidence in her. Jenna removed them painlessly and so perfectly, that you wouldn't know they were ever there. I am amazed at how Dr. Cox takes the time to speak with me, even though my reason situation didn't require his magical hands. Over the years, I've had several sun related basil skin procedures done by Dr. Cox in his office as an outpatient and he's like The Stephen Curry of dermatological "3 pointers" when it comes to surgery. "Nothing but net!" His PAs and nurses are blessed to work beside him. It is very obvious they are developing his skills. In sum, if anyone has a dermatology problem, consider yourself very lucky to live in Victoria, Texas. His office is close by and I found out recently that his patients come from all over Texas. It is my pleasure to share my pleasant experience at his office recently., and always!

I have a been a patient of Dr. Cox for app. 8 years now. He has removed several basil skin cell cancer (sun related) from my chest area successfully and painlessly over the years. Very recently I had one surgically removed by him and his very highly skilled/dedicated health care team. After the procedure, Dr. Cox made himself available for any questions or concerns that I had. I asked him if he would take a look at another spot that looked similar to the one he just operated on. He wasted no time and took a sample to be biopsied just as a precaution. I found out from speaking with my nurse that Dr. Cox treats his staff very nicely and respectfully. Everyone enjoys working for him. He has many patients that come to see him for the past 35 years! If you're looking for a very highly skilled, qualified, and elite doctor and staff, Dr. Cox is your dermatologist!

They didn’t care about my well being they confirmed an appointment I went out in this pandemic because I really needed help. Then I get there and she says we tried to cancel but your phone number didn’t work. I received at least 3 calls confirming and a text at 9ish last night confirming. They didn’t care about my well being or my time

Made an appointment weeks ago. Had at least 3 calls to confirm I get there and they said oh we tried to call you we can’t see you. They then proceeded to tell me my phone number wouldn’t work. It worked just fine when you confirmed the appointment. They didn’t care about my well being since I went out in this pandemic because they confirmed. They put me at risk because they confirmed then they wouldn’t even see me.

Unprofessional office management. Always takes over an hour waiting in wait room. Staff socializes while patients is in for a procedure. visit instead of focusing on patient. Lack surgery protocol while operating on patients hand. Did not ask patient to remove rings. 24 hours later patient taken to ER to have rings cut off. Bandage was also wrapped,too tight to cause excessive swelling even though patient followed after surgery procedure. Need geriatric procedures for patients.

This is the second time to visit him for different problems - wasn't happy the first time and really was't happy with him the second time - as the second time involved my daughter - he even made me angry. Took a quick look said this is what it is and said what meds to use and left - leaving the explanations to come from a lady who came in the room with him. Never did he physically touch her to examine the area to be treated - I think he's been in the business to long - no compassion for his patients any more.

excellent dr and staff ...I would not go to anyone but him especially for cancer surgery

I use to see him when I was a kid but now he made so much money he just kicks people out his office he doesn't want to see

The front staff gives a cold non interested vibe. The waiting room for this facility is uncomfortable. There were several employees in the room during the appointment. No privacy. Not able to really speak with the Doctor. There was a knock on the door during our appointment while the doctor was with us; very rude that they called him out during our appointment. We waited an hour for our appointment. So we should have had our time un interrupted ! At check out they could not even get the follow up time frame accurate. They guessed! Did not even get the chart to make sure! The nurses got our prescriptions all wrong; had to call in the next day to their office to get it straight. Very bad experience. But not much out there here in Victoria. :(((

I will never recommend this facility to anyone. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a Drs office in 30 years. There were 5 employees in the room at one time. Where's the privacy??? The staff was so rude. I didn't even get a chance to talk to the dr about everything because it was pure chaos. Too many employees in the room. If I wanted to share with more than a Dr I would take pictures myself and post them online. In addition to having 5 employees in the room they took pictures of the spots on my skin and didn't explain why. The front dest employee needs to be let go. She was very rude about whether or not id get my prescription then it if they were sending it. If I asked that means I wasn't told so no need to be rude. This place is a joke and I don't recommend anyone go there. Save your money. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I've never got online and written a review about anywhere EVER in my life! What a joke!
