Dr. Gary D Dean, MD

Dr. Dean has been my PCP for many years. I know I can depend on this man for my healthcare and he is able to explain in simple terms my health issues. Dr. Dean is a caring man who takes the time to commiserate when there are other issues outside of health. If he doesn't have an answer he will find someone who does.

I now will never step into that office again. No real problems with the Drs but some new members of their staff are HORRIBLE!!! The icing that topped it off was trying to get a script filled . I was going to be out of soon but due to emergency surgery I needed to get a ride. I was told I could come pick it up and explained my situation. I went to pick it up but it wasn't ready yet. When I called to see if it was ready a bit later the very snippy girl said not at sll and started to give me a lecture again on how I was nervy to call and expect this when they want 24 hr notice. I responded in a frustrated voice that due to surgery .... When she Hung up on me! Immediately following the nurse called to tell me it was ready . When I went to get it I asked who it was that hung up on me and no one came forward. When I explained how unprofessional and rude that was is when she stood up and proceeded to YELL at me!!!!! Another nurse behind the counter came back at me with a sarcastic… rude remark. What kind of office staff is this? Obviously in a Dts office people will get frustrated ... Maybe they're in pain maybe a surgery bad news... Show a little compassion and understanding This girl Laurie Patton should Defintelt be retrained or fired for her attitude. For me I'm going home back in bed where I am supposed to be. I thank them for adding more stress to an already stressful situation !

I was a patient of Dr. Gary Dean until three months ago when he diagnosed my ailment the same as his wife's condition as she had the same symptoms I did. She, however, had testing done; I did not, nor did he even suggest it. Three days after my visit, I tried for an entire day to reach him because I was in severe pain and wanted follow-up tests for a diagnosis. I called his office every hour with No response from him or his nurse. I ended up in the ER, which his answering service advised and that he would call in an order. When I got to the ER, they had never heard from him, nor did he show up. After several tests in the ER, I was diagnosed with something totally different than what he initially said. Three emergency surgeries later, my legs are still partially paralyzed. The surgeon told me if I had waited another day, I wouldn't even be here because my condition was so bad. Gary Dean made no attempt to contact me nor did he see me while I was in the hospital for six weeks! He… is no longer my physician, and I would not recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Dean is an excellent doctor and has been our family's doctor for about 20 years. He is consistently excellent in his diagnosis and treatment for each member of my family. He sincerely cares about his patients, and makes sure that he is up-to-date on the latest medical treatments and research.
