Dr. Gary James Frantz, MD

Come on, no way. He's been my doc for most of my 40 years on this planet and there is zero chance you could walk into his office and order up whatever Rx you want. None. There also is no such thing as "Perc 30's". Percocet come in 5 and 10mg strengths. ER oxycodone comes in 20, 40, and 80 (there used to be a 160 a long time ago too). I don't think there is an IR or ER 30 at all, and I know for sure there are no "Perc 30's". That said he is a very compassionate man and Doctor and he's not afraid to agressively treat pain and other conditions. I've discussed his philosophy and SOP with him at length. He truly studies (and will typically give you a published article on the subject that he authored) anything that he's comfortable treating. If it's outside of his comfort zone then he'll tell you so and make a referral. On this particular subject (treating pain) I strongly sense from him (as in I'm not 100% sure but more like 99.9) that someone near and dear to him has encountered chronic… pain issues. He is very passionate about this subject AND he has put in the time studying it and will aggressively attack it with you IF you are his patient, and are genuinely in need. However, to suggest that you can show up there, pay your copay, and order up whatever pill you desire is 100% false. He's very intelligent and I'd truly feel sorry for someone that would book a first time appointment with him and ask for "Perc 30's" (lol). He'd likely make a referral to a treatment facility and let you know you aren't welcome back. I'd love to be the proverbial fly on the wall for one of those type of appointments. Knowing him and his intelligence and real world experience he'd likely know what the game was before he even walked into the room. You know what, let me know when you want to try this. I'll be sure to book an appointment in an adjoining room when you attempt it. Now that would be worth the copay! Lol!

Dr Frantz is a fantastic doctor. As he (and I have) aged, he has become more of a referral type doctor. That said I 100% respect the fact that when he tells you he isn't an expert in that specialty, and he'll admit that it's because he hasn't kept up in that category, he's looking out for your best interests. He's very engaging and has his patients best interests at heart. He's very open to your ideas and will discuss your options of treatment for whatever ails you. He'll generally ask you which option you want to pursue so he's not a "do this!" type of doc. Since I'm not a medical pro I usually just ask him "if you were me what would you do"? Good enough for me. He's currently on leave according to his office for an unannounced reason. I hope it's nothing serious and we're pulling and praying for you here!

Dr. Frantz has been our family physician for many years, and has helped us through some serious health issues. He is professional, courteous, very knowledgeable and totally concerned with our well-being. Besides being a great doctor, he is a very gracious, and kind gentleman.

Not happy with this MD. He ignored my comments and health history and insisted that because I was over 50 I needed to see a cardio specilaist. I have a hip replacement scheduled tomorrow and this recomendation may delay my surgery. He is not responding to my ortho surgeons requests and calls for clarification. I would not recomend this md to friends or family.
