Dr. Gary William Frick, MD

I unfortunately was a patient of Northeast Florida Psychiatric Association for four years. 4 years of wasted money and time. 4 years, where I could have invested my money in a practice who CARES about their patients. Michelle Baxter advised I double up on my medication, which led me to be without medication in the correct dosage for 2+ weeks. She knew this when advising me to double up on my medication, as I was seeing her only once every 3 months. I was intentionally set up for failure and to run out of my medication for depression that I have been on for four years. I called this practice to see what we could do, as my next appointment was not for another 2 and a half weeks. I first spoke with Michael, who seems to only know how to read what is in front of him versus actually communicating with his team. When I asked him to confirm the dosage of my medication, he condescendingly and very rudely told me the dosage is 20mg (I was advised to double that up by Michelle Baxter) and he… also cold told me that it is written on the bottle of my medication and that I should know. It made me feel stupid. I called back the next day in hopes to speak with someone who would actually pull my chart and/or allow me to speak with my DR. This was not done. I was rudely told about a previous situation that occurred over 2 months ago and was not relevant to the current issue. Not once was I offered to come in for an appointment to have medication prescribed to me. I was rudely spoken to by the lady who makes your appointments when you leave, and she actually hung up on me when I was in mid conversation expressing to her the severity of the withdrawals I was experiencing from not having my anti depressants. I called back and a third person answered, I did not catch her name but she is the blonde woman who checks you in when you arrive for you appointment. She told me, and actually swore, she would speak with Michelle Baxter and call me back before the end of the day. This promise was not fulfilled. Today, day 4 without my antidepressants, I went into the office to speak directly with someone. I spoke with the two women mentioned above and the alleged supervisor, who is a tall African American woman with short hair. I asked her if I would be able to please see my doctor as I do not have medication and am experiencing dizziness, brain zaps, trouble balancing, night terrors, migraines, muscle spasms, mood swings, ringing in my ears that is so unbearably loud, difficulty with my speech such as stuttering and speaking in broken sentences with words reversed, and suicidal ideations. I was told that Michelle Baxter refused to see me. I was accused of cursing out the staff, which did not happen. This place is a joke, and honestly they just want to collect your money and do not care about your mental health. I find this practice to be extremely unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place by any means necessary. I recommend the counseling center of New Smyrna Beach. They genuinely care about their patients and will do any and everything in their power to truly help you, with the compassion and understanding we all deserve as patients seeking help with our mental health. If I could give zero starts on this review I would.

I started coming to this office after a tragedy in my life over a year in a half ago. They have been amazing, from Dr. Frick to Dr. Parke, the office manager C.J is doing a great job to Kelsey and Ms. Janice. I can't say enough good things about all of them. When I could not even think straight, they made me feel like things were going to be okay! I thank the entire staff so much! Your forever patient. Cinderella Chic

I have noticed changes in the staff and I must say that things are a lot better here. Dr. Frick is great. Very knowledgeable and thorough.

I had written a horrible review back in the Spring and gave this office a "1", all based on BONNIE! the manager. She was the most hateful, rudest human being I had ever met! She set the entire tone for that office. She made it miserable for us and the co-workers to even be there. She was the one I wrote about professing her profound Christianity and as far as I was concerned? She was directly related to Satan! Well, I went back recently, not knowing the recent changes. I was greeted kindly at the check-in window. I was spoken to kindly. The place was quiet and cordial. It was a whole new VIBE! I still could not put my finger on it. But, I was sitting there with 2 other ladies and we were all complaining about how horrible it was to go to this office and I reported that I had to take a Klonopin just to prepare to enter the building, knowing that I would have to deal with that nasty monster. Well, I am beyond happy to announce that SHE IS GONE!!! What is the song in the WIZARD OF… OZ?? '?, ?, the witch is dead, the wicked witch is dead"!!! now, she is not dead. BUT!! she is GONE!!! Dr. even met me out in the hall as I was leaving and shared a little note with me about this wonderful news. And I had goose bumps, a great big smile, and tears welling up as I stood there. So, I am extremely HAPPY that I returned there and I feel so much better when I have my visit and the entire office is sooooo kind and CALM!!! They are super nice on the phone. They are very nice to check in and check out. I have spoken to several customers of mine who had quit going there because of her and told them she is GONE!!! and they are all returning. I thank Gary Frick, MD for seeing the light and taking positive action to improve the lives of his patients. That alone decreased my anxiety, knowing I would not have to deal with her hateful self anymore!!! Thank you very much! And a special Shout out to ASHLEY!! She had a tough road too. We are all very happy.

The new staff is better than the old staff! Bonnie is gone!Maybe it's a little too early for me to give them 5 stars..... Dr Frick and Lynn Howard are great
