Dr. Gary Edward Harper, MD

After an insurance mandated wellness visit was billed to me, I contacted the doctor requesting that he recheck the codes he billed to my hmo. Numerous tests were run without my knowledge that were not covered. Maybe I caught him on a bad week, but Dr Harper and his staff were unhelpful, and Harper himself was incredibly rude. He accused me of trying to get free medical care, and asked me what I thought I could do about it. At no point did he make an attempt to figure out what went wrong or fix it. If a doctor cares this little about his patients he should retire.

He and his staff are very courteous. When I have been suddenly ill I have been able to see him the same day. I do have my concerns as tends to prescribe medications quite quickly without a through review of symptoms.

Dr. Harper and his staff are top notch. I struggled to find a new primary care doctor after my long time one retired. I finally found Dr. Harper and couldn't be happier. Dr. Harper is down to earth and takes the time to listen to his patients. You do not feel like you are on an assembly line like you do at some doctors offices. Best in Little Rock!

Dr. Harper harkens back to the era of the small town doctor. A doctor who is available and caring. Remember when the local doctor lived down the street? Ever seen a Norman Rockwell poster or painting? Now you get the idea. If you need a personal physician, call and make an appointment with Dr. Harper.

My husband and I both have gone to Dr Harper for several years now. We have always been treated with respect and care that make you feel like family. Adria and Vanessa are kind , professional, and caring. We love them all dearly and would never dream of going anywhere else. If you want an accurate diagnosis and treatment along with a friendly environment, then Dr Harper is the man !!

I would recommend Dr. Harper especially if you like the liberal hippy type physician. Unfortunately I am on the conservative side and although I do not have a problem with Dr. Harper (I have been a patient for 10 years) his office staff has much to be desired and I get sick of hearing about how great Democrat-Socialists in AR are - they suck, just look at how poor, and backward this state is overall. We will never see eye-to-eye politically but he is a kind and genuine person regardless. Negatives: He has taken a 6 month leave of absence with no explanation and his staff is extremely rude - especially his office manager - very rude. His replacement while he was gone was a - woman - I had NO use for her or her care- period. I have since chaged my PCP not because of Dr. Harper's care but because of all the small things that make up a great experience vs one that is not so great.

i have been seeing dr harper as needed for 8 yrs. he is a 1 doc shop with 1 nurse & 1 ofc asst. 1 day he is in jeans and tshirt with a ponytail, next time is has a full beard and short hair. introduces himself as gary. spends time listening. gets to know you and chews you out when needed. walks his dogs in his neighborhood by his office. usually doesnt over book, so he isnt in it for the money and volume. office is converted house with 2 exam rooms. grown up hippie comes to mind when describing him. and he personally returns tele calls.
