Dr. Gary Cheukman Lee, MD

Dr. Lee is caring and professional. He spends time explaining things in details. I would recommend him.

Don't go back and feel belittled by his tone.

Staff are super. They mirror the grace, experience and knowledge of Dr. Lee.

I saw Dr. Lee once years ago and would have continued seeing him had I not moved out of California for several years. I had three issues when I had on this latest visit. He treated a worrisome rough spot on my face (it's gone a week later, no problem); he excised a spot on my ankle and his medical aide was knowledgeable and courteous when I called to ask a follow up question. Dr. Lee listens closely and replies to whatever question I ask. He has a subtle, wry sense of humor if you listen closely. I would tell my friends, if you want a bouncy Santa Claus type for a bedside manner, Dr. Lee isn't for you. but I believe he's a great dermatologist and I really like him. Staff has a good balance of professionalism and kindness.

This doctor was referred by my primary's PA. When I called for an appointment, I was shocked that I was able to get a quick date at a specific time of my choice. (Should have been a red flag!) this was the worst experience with a doctor I have ever had. He was unable and unwilling to listen and make a correct diagnosis. My main complaint was a rash that was getting worse over the last month and secondarily a boil that had erupted on my inner thigh. He examined neither closely. I requested a new bandage for the boil. I had to return to the office just as I got out the door because the bandage was falling off. I was given some tape that did not stick. (That fell off somewhere in Target as I was purchasing a new bandage that would stay on my skin. An awful experience and no resolution for my problem.

Do not see this doctor. I was referred to Dr. Lee by my primary care dr. He misdiagnosed a skin cancer and now a year later I am having it properly treated and facing surgery. He acted annoyed when I asked any questions and was dismissive of my concerns.

There are many problems with Dr. Lee and his practice. He has problems communicating with patients and explaining the diagnosis and the treatment. He is arrogant and incompetent. He told me I have acne, failed to give me any advice, and sent a claim to the insurance company in which he "diagnosed" shingles (I am certain I do not have shingles). I waited 50 minutes at the office, even though I came on time. The office staff was unprofessional. While I waited, they called at least three patients on the phone, identified them by last name, and then went on to discuss the test/biopsy results with everyone in the waiting room listening.

Not sure why he's been given so many bad marks. Granted this is my 1 & only visit. I read these comments prior to going to him & I fully intended to go into his office to totally rag & expect the worst! I fully expected to go & demand to be seen on top, to be treated as his one & only patient, to be given the best bedside manner & then to totally rip him & his office for NOT doing so. But you know what? I can't because my experience was basically perfect. Granted his staff is younger & they're not greeting you with the "Colgate" smile but c'mon people it's a job it's not heaven. Doctor Lee escorted me in (which was different, normally it's the nurse) he answered my questions, solved the problem & I was in & out in no longer than 15 minutes & that INCLUDES the waiting time in the lobby. If you want someone to "tap dance" for you like your a littel 5 year old child then don't go here. If you mean business & want to treat the experience as, "Just treat me & I need to get back to work"… then this place is excellent.

I will not go back to Dr. Lee. He was very short with me and he was very hard to talk to. Any question I asked seemed to annoy him. I was in tears when I left his office after my surgery. His assistant was nice and helpful.

I have gone to Dr. Lee for over three years and he is far from arrogant! I have no clue why anyone would think that. He explains everything. I ask the most mundane questions about my skin and he answers me. I find him to be honest and very, very knowledgeable, which is what you want in a Dermatologist. His credentials are impeccable. Don't listen to these other reviewers. Obviously they have a problem with doctors or are looking for a clown to treat them (someone to entertain them or be their "friend").
