Dr. Gary Roth Lichtenstein, MD

Dr. Gary Lichtenstein is the best doctor I have ever been treated by. He was able to diagnose what was ailing me, despite my having gone to both UCLA and Mayo. When he first met me, I was at my wits end but he was not aware. I have lost all faith in the medical community and felt like I might have to give up or spend a bunch of money to figure out what was going on. I am so grateful that he has guided my path of care and took the time to listen to me and literally save my life. Thank you.

Dr. Lichtenstein is an awful doctor who is very arrogant and likes to talk down to his patients. He is not at all helpful to his patients and is really overrated. He is not as knowledgeable in IBD as he is reputed to be. If you are an IBD patient in the Philadelphia area, you would be much better off going down to Johns Hopkins than being a patient of Dr. Lichtenstein.

I had very bad experience with Dr. Lichtenstein during last two years. I had pain in my upper right quadrant and he was unable to diagnose it. I also have severe inflammation in stomach that bothers me but he just said it is GERD, do not worry!!! He just reads from his computer and ask those questions without looking at me! I do not recommend him unless if there is nobody else in the city.

He was superb ! What a great doctor. The best I have ever seen. The staff was great also. Terrific facilities also. He is clearly the best of the best!

This was a 1st visit- the staff was professional and polite. This doctor came highly recommended- I found the initial visit a little off putting. 1.he is very busy 2. I felt he was dimissive and would NOT let me get my story out in my own words, he kept on telling me how much time he was spending on me- isn't that your job. 3. When Iwas not thrilled about a test- he told to stop wasting his time- not nice. 4.The only other negative I have is- when asked about my carrer(artist)- he said so you do crafts- I DON'T DO Crafts I have a bfa in fine arts. I found it incredibly insulting. 5. On the positive side- I think he will get to the heart of my problem. 6. I have a great willingness to try almost all his instructions BECAUSE I want to live a normal life. AND by the way you do crafts in camp!

Dr. Lichtenstein is an excellent doctor. He has a wonderful caring attitude. He always takes the time to explain things to me about my chrohns, and is very honest and open

Dr. Lichtenstein has been my physician for 20 years. I have never had anything but extremely positive encounters with him. As a matter of fact, I now live an hour from the Mayo Clinic but still travel to Philadelphia to see him. If you are fortunate enough to be his patient you will receive the optimum in medical care.

He is a superb doctor. He is compassionate, kind and a superb diagnostician. He is the best doctor I have ever seen!!!

Dr. Lichtenstein has been my doctor at UPENN for at least 10 years. After having a very poor diagnosis from another physician in the same specialty, Dr. Lichtenstein had the biopsy slides reviewed at HUP. Though not cancer, I still didn't feel well, and continued losing weight. Through various testing, and treatment, I am generally doing well now, and gained nearly 25-30 pounds since my very first visit.I have recommended Dr. Lichtenstein to family, friends and co-workers.

Dr. Lichtenstein reviewed my prior medical information and records. He was thorough and I found his attention to detail remarkable. In addition I found Dr. Lichtenstein to be a compassionate, gentle and caring individual. I would highly recommend Dr. Gary Lichtenstien without reservation, he is truly one of the best in his field.
