Dr. Gary Dean Madden, MD

I'm an 80 year old retired nurse and have worked with many drs and was a patient to some. Dr. Madden has been my primary care physician for 24 years. I do not have enough words to sing his praises. I read the reviews of other patients. I also have had times that I have to wait to see him but most of the time I don't wait long. When I do wait I know he either goes to deliver a baby or is providing needed care for others as he does for me. The minute he walks in he is assessing you. He notices how you are dressed which will tell him how you are feeling physically and mentally. Ladies may not realize he is assessing you for problems from the beginning of the visit. He takes his time and discusses any concern you have. I too, at first, felt like he was getting into my personal life, but todays Dr.s and nurses treat the whole mind and body. His questioning gives the patient an opening to discuss issues that the patient might not think to tell him. He takes his time with the… patients. I have never felt rushed or that I was just a number to him. Now, over the years with him, he knows about my family and lets me discuss family problems. He gives advice on ALL areas of life that the patient may not think to tell him or they may think it is out of his area of practice. He is much more that a OBGYN. And if you don't follow his advice he is never offended. He has a gift of understanding people's lives that I have never seen in a Dr. I wish all Drs had the talents of patient care that Dr. Madden has. Ladies do not let the negetive review about having to wait effect you choice of Dr. What would you rather have, a Dr who treats the mind, soul and body or a dr who just hears your complaints for that day. I would give him 10 stars if I could.

He delivered my first when we lived in Midland TX. I have since delivered my second in Houston TX and am looking for another doctor in PA for my third. I am writing this because I wish he practiced here! He is by far my favorite OBGYN doctor. He was extremely thorough and professional.

Had to sit in the waiting room for at least 3 hours every appointment. Basically forced me to have a c section. Miserable experience.

Dr. Madden gets too personal with patients and offers unsolicited advice. He thinks he's a marriage counselor.

Misdiagnosis and reckless attention to care. Would not recommend.

Office doubles up on appointments. Doctor does not do what he says he will do. Do no recommend at all

Just saw Dr. Madden for the first time. Take your books, you will be waiting FOREVER! And then when you get in to see him, you wait longer...and then he talks...about him!

I began seeing Dr. Madden because my friend was a nurse in his office. Wait time for EVERY appointment was over an hour. I had to take off work for my OB appointments. He schedules when you will be induced or scheduled section. No other doctors do this. My water broke the night prior to my section. He made my labor all night whereas most doctors would come in to complete section. And then he was late for the surgery. He and his PA made fun of me during the section. Very unprofessionsal! Dr. Madden is arrogant and chauvenistic. I wouldn't use him again if he was the last OB in Texas!

Dr. Madden spends more time with me than any other doctor. I never feel rushed when I see him. He treats me for other conditions besides just ob/gyn stuff. I highly recommend him!
